You know, one thing I never thought I'd see in my lifetime is a traffic jam at 3am on a Saturday night. But sure enough, after getting out of the Phoenix, I was in one. Some genius thought it would be a great idea to close the Gardiner and not tell me. A 20 minute drive took over an hour. It was kinda funny though because I can count at least 20 different occasions where I honked my horn for no apparent reason (somebody changing lanes...somebody driving a focus, traffic stopping). On the plus side, I did see the sun rise for the first time in a couple of months.

I've been slacking off with my updates, but that's my own fault. It's kinda hard to keep blogging after almost 2 years (hey, that reminds me, the birthday blog is coming up soon...what special suprises will be in store? My best guess is none). So I can stand here and start preaching on how my blog has outlived most of the others on my list, but I'm not here to do that.

I saw supersize me last night, and I gotta say, damm that movie is good. Pretty sick to see what a steady diet of McDonalds can do to a person. I guess this is the part where I say I've been inspired to eat less fast food than I normally do (I think I only get it about once a week anyways...never during work days, only when I'm out with friends). I was at McDonalds on thursday...couldn't even finish my Big Mac combo, felt sick half way through. The weird thing was, it tasted soooo good on Saturday when I was hammered. Maybe that had something to do with it....

I'm not going to appologize for the delay. My brother was digging up the backyard, sliced right through the interweb cable and I went 3 days without an interweb connection. I got to watch a few dvd's in that time. Van Wilder, Saving Silverman and of course Old School. Yeah, I've been busy, I know it. Actually the Kingdom on Friday wasn't bad...wasn't good either. Same story for the Phoenix...although I was more intoxicated that night since I wasn't driving.

Damm, the long weekend is coming up. I was tottaly caught off gaurd by this one. I've lost all sense of timing according to the calender. All I know is what day of the week it is...that's what work does to me. I think my coop is coming to an end at the end of the month, so that means I actually have to speak with the department director about my status. Whatever happens happens, I'm cool with it either way. I think I've done a good job there over the past 4 1/2 months, but who knows. We'll just wait and see.

I'm loving my new phone. So much fun. The say cheese feature when I take pictures of people is hillarious because they are stunned when the picture is taken...ensuring a good display. I still don't know how many pictures my phone holds...but that's not important. I'm having fun with my new phone!

Got the Sanyo SCP-8100. So far, so good. No complaints at all! Phone is really solid. You can just feel it. Camera quality is acceptable (ok, it could be better), but I'll get by. There's an offer for a free data cable that I filled out yesterday, just gotta wait 6-8 weeks for it to come in now! But once it's done, I'll be able to sync up my contacts with outlook (you normal people won't care, but us geeks like that stuff!).

Saw Troy (the movie) last night. I thought the fight scenes in it were incredible. Sure the parts where they talked left a lot to be desired and the movie could have been a half hour shorter, but over all, I liked it! Best movie so far this year (that doesn't say much though).

It's poker time, if you're ever interested in playing with me call me up on my new phone!

May 15, 2004

Well, I tried to buy my phone last night. Almost bought it, however Bell naturally was being a bunch of idiots. Here's how it goes.

I pick out a phone I like, get ready to pay, tell the guy I need to speak to customer service first to get my account changed over (I'm still under the LCBO plan...but in case you haven't noticed, I don't work there anymore). Anyways, first customer service rep says I can't change plans until I have the new package code. Doh, screw you, I'm calling back. I call back, get another agent and tell him I left the code at the office. No problem says Francois, he is nice enough to look up the code for me (I always told ya customer service agents with French accents are the best). So anyways we get the code, but evidently since they are "moving buildings next week" my account can't get transferred over until the 26th of May. HAHAHAHAHAH, that may be the worst excuse I've ever heard. Anyways I'm like ok...that's fine with me, are you guys going to be nice enough to waive the hardware upgrade fee for me then? No...grr....fine! (As it stands right now, I'll be saving $7/month on my wireless package anyway...but that's not good enough).

So anyway, I agree to buy a new phone when to my suprise, the $150 rebate applies to me, but not the extra $100 they are having as a promotion. Unless I sign up as a new account and lose my number. So I'm like fine, my phone number isn't worth $100 to me (it may be to a telemarketer).

I say I'll take it. The customer service rep informs me that it's too late to activate my phone and I should come tomorrow. ROFL! They actually think I'm going to come back. HAHAHAHA. I saw an ad at best buy today...same price, but I get a $50 gift card. Looks like round two will be later this afternoon, except this time, I'm going in saying I don't want to keep my service.

Add sports illustrated to the boycott list. They have a list of top 50 highest paid atheletes and wha? No Micheal Schumacher?!? Hmm, they should edit that title to Top 50 highest paid American atheles because we choose to ignore those that are better than us. So Sports Illustrated, I've clicked on you for the last time (I'm so happy I never bought an issue of their magazine).
Today I will buy a new phone.

Today I will buy a new phone.

Today I will buy a new phone.

If I say it enough, I might actually do it.

Those of you that know me well know my cell phone has been Fubared lately. I've got two choices down right now.

1, stick with bell, pay $22.50/month for 200 mins/voicemail/call display and keep my number plus $150 for a new phone.

2, go with rogers, pay $20/month 200 mins/weekends/voicemail/call display get a new number, and be charged $99 to get out of my bell contract.

What do I do...what do I do?

Ack...blogger changed their interface. I'm so confused now. WTF is a dashboard and how the hell do I post? Ahh too many questions, not enough time. Hey why is it, when there's a product you don't like you can return it, but when you see a movie you don't like, you can't get your money back?!? WTF is up with that, and those losers have the nerve to tell me piracy is wrong?!? Bah, not that'd ever actually pirate a movie, I don't believe in that, but still, these guys seriously have their heads so far up their asses it isn't even funny anymore. Thats what happens when you let people control their industry from La La Land. Has any stable company ever even come out of California? Silcon Valley seemed to have a good run until they blew their .com bubble. Microsoft is based in Washington with a buffer state inbetween. Vegas is pretty close, but at least they got a state line. I mean seriously, who would want their world headquaters in California? I know I wouldn't.

Did an oil change on the focus all by myself today. For the first time I didn't tip the oil filter while I was taking it out either! I'm shocked!

Woohoo, employee meeting to be "formally" introduced to the new president. You know what that means: free breakfast and a half hour break before I even start work! Had black pepper beef on rice for lunch today. I love that stuff. Mid afternoon snack consisted of 2 crossiants and a bottle of water. Oh yeah, I think I had some work to do inbetween the time I wasn't eating.

I got the bad news about Arthur on Wednesday morning. I've tried to update my blog a few times since then, but I haven't been able to properly say what I want to. I'm still in a state of shock over the whole thing. I can't believe he's gone. It seems just as things turn the corner for me (I got a one month extension at my job) bam, I'm hit with this. It's worse than a kick in the nuts. Such a young life full of promise. Arthur was a great man, well liked by everybody that knew him. I don't remember anybody ever saying anything bad about him. I'm going to miss him. It's always tough when you lose a friend, it's really tough when you lose a friend that had his whole life ahead of him. Remember to keep him in your thoughts.
