To save you people the worries, I am NOT going to watch the oscars. I still can not figure out why on earth anybody would watch that crap. Award shows suck because they're all fixed beyond belief. When you can wine and dine a judge to sway his/her vote you ruin it for everybody. But that's just my opinion...all I need to tell me I'm doing a good job is a big pay cheque not some little statue.

February 28, 2004

Picked up Need For Speed Undgerground for PS2 last night. I'll post my initial quick thoughts on it: First race I played on the split screen, I noticed a horrible frame rate at the start as well as choppy graphics (not up to Gran Turismo Standards). Yes I know, I'm going to make more comparisons to GT3 than I should (But the only reason I bought this game was to hold me over until GT4 comes out...whenever that will be).

Anyways, once you get into the game and start playing, it's fun. I've only played it for about an hour, but I'm having a blast!!! Drift mode is pretty sweet too! I have yet to try the online capabilites of this game, but it should be good...EA has a great online network.

February 27, 2004

Today I didn't do much at all at work. I guess it was circumstances. 37 emails between me and Carol (we sent each other that many...total is 72) in the last 3 days probably had something to do with it...but who knows for sure? I got the honor of making the weekly Beef Pho Phun run. Damm I love that stuff. Although I had Black Pepper Beef today (which was also awesome). I'm heading out to play some poker with the boys in 10 minutes...Texas Hold'em is great when you're playing for cash (and winning). Hmm...what else...heading out to Joe's for -Mike's birthday party. Check out his site, he's got pics of his new car up there as well as a new color scheme. Alright that's enough blogging for one day.

February 26, 2004

Something weird is happening at work...the guy that normally tries to bust my balls has given up. Weird. In the last 2 days, 2 people from the IT department have asked me what my post-coop plans are. Weird. Maybe I'm thinking too much, but it sounds like they want me to stay. Ok, that sounds like wishfull thinking, but who knows. Also I heard rumors floating around that they might need an extra programmer for some of the dealings with the suppliers...at $50,000 a year to start!!!! A man can dream. I love working at that place. I still don't have anything negative to say about anybody yet (even the guy that's tries to bust my balls...I know I'd be the EXACT same way to any coop). So who knows, we'll wait and see, but hopefully things will turn out for the better! I'm back in the presidents good books (he's a real cool guy when he's not in the boardroom...even says hi to everybody when he comes in from lunch...no ego at all!).

February 24, 2004

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. Just when I thought I'm getting ahead at this job, on comes a tray of food. Lasgana, Roasted Peppers, Potaotes, that fancy salad with the weeds and weird looking lettuce, and a tray of mushrooms. Mushrooms eh? Nah, I'll pass. Not until I get downstairs do I realize that it was beef under the mushrooms. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. I missed out on roast beef. And if you're wondering why I didn't go back to get it. Well the kitchen where the food was is on the second floor. The kitchen I eat in (as with other first floor employees) is on the first floor. I'm not making 2 trips for food. My plate was heavy enough as it was.

Oh yes, and to clarify that was not me speaking in getting owned 101.

February 23, 2004

Getting Owned 101.
Why am I stupid enough to pick up the phone at 4:59pm? Why? I keep falling for it every fucking week.I should set my phone to go directly to voicemail between 4pm-9am. Only problem is if I do that, I'm not taking it off. But then I'd have to return calls, which is something nobody likes to do. Anyways files are being copied now which gives me an excuse to go home. I got leaf tickets (even though I hate the leafs) for tonights game. I'm going only because I know how expensive they are ($87 a seat...and that's upper bowl!) and I'm getting tons of free food (yeah, take a guest along and they'll feel obliged to buy you the $5 hot dogs and $6 beers AND pay for parking!! And if it's your brother, he'll drive too because he doesn't trust your driving skillz).

February 21, 2004

Damm...now I wanna host a LAN party. With the addition of a second gaming computer in my house, I finally convinced my brother to play me in Call Of Duty, and we had a pretty good time playing it. I don't know any of the multiplayer maps yet, so if anybody knows a good one for two people (or a good mode to play) please tell me. So now i'm slowly getting back into the gaming scene with Call Of Duty and Battlefield/Desert Combat. Yeah, I'm far behind, but it'll come back to me soon.

February 19, 2004

It feels good when you're in charge. Since all the important managers/IT staff has gone to a hotel for some meeting/conference (it could have been held in the office...but then the company couldn't waste money) I'm in charge of support for the whole building (I think about 20 people today). Which is kinda cool, because I'm doing a whole lot more running around than normal today.

February 18, 2004

You know it's a slow day at work when the highlight of your day is finding out they changed the juice in the fridge to "new plastic bottles". Actually they went from fairlee to everfresh and I'll admit, the orange juice is MUCH improved. Apple juice is no big deal, although there isn't all that crap floating in it that you sometimes get from the canned versions. I still love my five alive...that's my offical afternoon drink. And I'm not drinking pop while at work (cutting back on sugar...I've actually stuck with my new years resolution!!!). Speaking of new years resolution...how many of you people have actually stuck with yours?

February 17, 2004

Wow Tuesday is already over...that was a fast couple of days. Not really actually, it feels like it should be Thursday already since things at work are so bitchy sometimes. But for the most part the good outweighs the bad down there so I'm not going to waste my time complaining about it. Had some wings yesterday. Nothing beats half price wings on Monday nights, that's for sure. Wednesday is all you can eat ribs day, although I've been spending too much money lately so I don't know if it'd be a good idea to go out and get some.

February 15, 2004

Went to the casino last night. Played some Sic Bo...which is a dice game where you bet on the total of 3 dice. I was doing pretty good...I think at one point I was up about $60 (doing $10 bets)...then I managed to blow it all away. Ahh well, bet small...no big...no small. Casino was packed too. Watching the leafs blow a 3 goal lead against Buffalo was pretty funny too. Got home at 3:30am. Couldn't sleep well for some odd reason...I don't know why. Woke up around 10, watched Old School (after a failed attempt on Friday night). I can't wait to see what today has in store for me.

February 12, 2004

Work went pretty smooth today I guess. No big issues, I kinda fixed the COO's palm today (well his synchronization works...sort of). I fixed the presidents home laptop (man he's a cool guy when he's not being a dick). As for food in the office, had some fruit right out of the boardroom (I couldn't wait for them to share) and a bagel or two from the lunchroom. They had some rice potatoes and salad left over, but I didn't bother going for it. Come to think of it, I should have tried some salad. Ahh well, I'm sure there'll be more rabbit food (as salad is to be called from here on in) tomorrow. I'll have some then seeing as I didn't make a lunch for tomorrow. I could make a bean salad I guess, or bring some leftover chili with me, but that would require effort and mean that for 3 straight days I wouldn't have purchased a lunch. And that can not happen...or can it? Hmm....stay tuned and find out (like you really care).

I also added a hit counter that's supposed to track more referrals than the bravenet one I have. Needless to say, it's not working.

February 11, 2004

That smoked meat was still good, sucks that I only had one. The salami was alright too. Had a butter tart and slice of carrot cake on the side. I saw the vegetarian sandwhich and almost went for it...then I remembered there's no meat in it.
Yeah, sandwhiches today, there's a board meeting going on upstairs. Last time their smoked meet sandwhich was pretty dammed good (I should know, I had two!), so hopefully there'll be more if it today. I should have known. Ahh well, I brought a salad which isn't real food anyway.

February 10, 2004

Tuesday...what happend today? Well I got to work on the system updates server Tesma wants me to implement. So far so good. No complaints just yet, had to install my own version of Windows 2003 Server (twice...first time I forgot to partition the hard drive...not the boot drive is viewed as being G in windows...ahh fuck it). The server is working fine...I just have to configure the clients to point at our server instead of Microsofts now.

There was an unsual amount of bagels left over from training today. Needless to say I helped myself out to a couple. Mmmm bagels. I'm going to do something tomorrow I haven't done since I started working for Tesma. I'm going to bring my lunch. I guess it's just me trying to fit in since everybody else brings theirs while I normally head out and buy my own. We'll see how it goes, with my luck, they'll have some really nice food in the lunchroom.

I've got a copy of postal 2 on my desk right now. Any game featuring Gary Coleman as a killer HAS to be good! I should install it as soon as I go offline.

February 09, 2004

What a weekend. Drank Rev (yes...Rev!) on Friday night. Got pretty hammered. In fact I was doing something funny that the guys still are making fun of me for. Ahh well. Saturday drank gin (and lots of it)...got hammered, spent the night at a house Annie was housesitting, had a couple slices of pizza and passed out just as I finished my last slice (it was great...didn't even have to move from the couch). Woke up around 7:15am...rounded up the drunks from the previous night and headed home. Got home around 8:15 and fell right asleep. Woke up around 12:30...came downstairs...that's when I noticed Bill and Annie drew on me when I was passed out. Damm I'm slow. Spent most of Sunday playing Madden/watching the making of American pie (well really sleeping...had one of those dreams where what's happening tv is actually in your dream...if you know what I mean). Woke up...went out to play some poker with the boys. Made a cool $22...we were only playing max $3 bet per hand so nobody would really lose much money. And that was my weekend.

February 06, 2004

Well bought the new computer last night. Many thanks go out to Peter for putting up with me through the whole process...I know I would have killed me if I ever had to put up with myself. So got a new case (still need a couple case fans for it though), MSI GeForce 5600 video card, 120 gb HD (do you realize how much porn can be stored now?), and a bunch of other things. I also picked up a wireless G router for the house since my old computer is going in my moms room and she won't let me drill cable through the floors again (there's already one hole in my family room that leads to the basement). Oh yeah I got a wireless keyboard/mouse since they were black. So once I get some time, I'll throw on a couple games and not play them. I still gotta buy a DVD burner and a Monitor for the system, although knowing me since I haven't bought them right away, I'm not buying them for at least a month. My power supply is messed so I gotta return that too.

Now it's time to see what other foods (in addition to the Muffins and crossiants) I can leech off for lunch today. We're getting beef pho fun for lunch, which is some pretty good stuff (think stir fry people). Anyways back to work!

February 04, 2004

Almost bought a new computer today. I say almost because when push came to shove, I couldn't decide on what case I wanted. Now I know there are those out there who say a case is just a fucking box...but when the computer is in your family room and not hidden away in some dark bedroom you gotta have something nice. Something that says "this guy must have some serious shit under the hood", and if it's going to be put next to an LCD monitor, you've gotta have something that says "ok, these people have class". I know this is true because at my fathers funeral when everybody was in the house, I had a few family friends ask me where I got the case from and mention how good it looks. So that's why just any case won't do in my situation.

As for the computer itself, I know exactly what I'm going to put in, and I'll build it all myself. My mom wants the one I use now for her school work (see what happens when you take a couple night school courses?) so I'm getting about $600 for my present box (which did undergo a round of upgrades October 2002 so is a fairly new system). Ahh well, it's only money at the end of the day. Can't take it to the grave with you, so might as well enjoy it while it's here.

February 02, 2004

Superbowl was a good game...well half of it at least. The first and third quarters should never be mentioned, but they did represent half the game. From the hall I was watching the game at, the intensity on the inside was greater than I've seen in a while. That 4th quarter was something special to watch. With the constant lead changes and the hall thrown into fits every time each team scored (be it the Carolina bettors or the New England "fans"), it was easily the most exciting game I've seen. Yes more exciting than the St. Louis-Tennessee game from 4 years ago, and better than the St. Louis-New England game from 2 years ago.

Carolina earned the respect of a lot of people. Nobody gave them any respect going into the game. I know I didn't post this, but as I said to a few people on MSN and in person, I knew New England was going to win, but Carolina was going to cover for sure and keep it close. I just didn't expect those defenses to be ripped up in the 4th quarter. But if you payed attention to what Carolina was doing, they totally ignored the short passing game (passes less than 10 yards) and just kept airing it out. I don't think the Patriots planned on that.

So that concludes another football season. What am I going to do on Sundays from now until September? True, I do have F1, but that's only every other Sunday and lasts a mere two hours. Not to mention I have to wake up at 7:AM to watch the races live. I hate basketball so I can't watch that. Hockey doesn't have many Sunday afternoon games. Take up NASCAR? HAHAHAHA.....NO! I'll find something to do, maybe clean my room.
