Day 3 of work is now complete and I finally got a chance to visit a store today to do a partial upgrade! Woohoo. It wasn't too bad actually, only spent about 4 hours in that store chaning cash registers and getting rid of the old (think Boost Monkey...except in the computer world) token ring network (yes they still exist). The afternoon was smooth sailing as all we did was figure out how to print out on a keyboard label (thank you IBM for not providing templates for your sheets, and thank you Microsoft for not allowing cell sizes in anything but font points).

Oh yeah, in the first of what will probably be a long line of company holding me back from linux I was informed that the PC I use (kinda) shouldn't be imaged just yet with Mandrake. In an ironic twist, later on in the day, the NT server that executes our scripts crashed (no joke, this really happend). I think it's a sign...time to start beating the linux drum around the office (and make a full time position for myself).

April 29, 2003

Wow, got through 50 keyboards at work today. Yes they got me doing bitch work with the keyboards, but I guess it's good that a light is at the end of the tunnel. I'm going to the West Coast when all these keyboards are done, the other co-op wanted East Coast, so I snapped at the chance to visit BC and see some mountains. We got some work to do when we are down there, but hey, it's a business trip, and I've never been on one before so something's gotta be turing up. Looks like I'll be flying out in early June right now. But that'll probably change. Hmm, the chance of visiting a Hooters in every province looks good right now.

April 28, 2003

One day of work down, a whole lot more left. Can't complain. All I did today was configure cash registers. We get to go to a store on Wednesday! WooHoo!

Now onto more important things. This Saturday we got another game of roller hockey going. If you got blades and wanna show up, post a message if you are coming (I know I've said this before, but it doesn't hurt to remind people).

April 27, 2003

Man, the internet is so boring now that school is over. What the hell am I going to do with it for the next 4 months? Since school ended last Thursday, I think I've spent about 1 hour total on the internet. Compare that with 1 hour of stalling before homework and you got a situation on your hands.

Hmm, less internet usage, more exercise, better diet. That's it, SCHOOL has been killing me! Yup, now that I have a scapegoat, I'm going to sue the pants off of Sheridan College.
Hmm, the good news is there is a new BF mod out there that is supposed to be based in the mediaeval times, bad news is it doesn't look tottaly right. I'll let the picture do the talking.

Played some street hockey yesterday, man I forgot how much I loved doing that. When we were kids we'd play forever and not for any money! Damm I must have been in some really good shape back then because when I tried to play yesterday, I could barely move at the end of it all. My legs are still sore, but that doesn't mean I won't play again. Just as soon as the next game gets organized you know I'm there.

Hmm come to think of it, we should make hockey a weekly thing. Who's up for it? I know The Professor is, Sw0rdFish will be too, I can scrape up a few non-readers of my webpage to come on out and play too. I think this may be the start of something big (next to SRL of course).

Oh yeah, in other news, seems like EnSabac has decided life isn't worth living anymore.

April 26, 2003

Last day of ITSC work before I start Toys R Us work. What better way to spend a sunny day then stuck in front of a computer terminal typing up a blog? Yup, only 3 1/2 hours left. I could reflect on the memories, but I'm coming back to work here in September so there is no need to do that until December (or whenever I get a full time job).

Well, the lions took Charles Rogers out of Michigan state, so Joey Harrington will have a nice target to throw to now. Let's hope he turns out better than anybody drafted by the Bengals in the last 10 years.

April 24, 2003

Woohoo, I just got a new co-op job with Toys R Us, so I don't know if I'll have internet access at my new job. Here's to hopeing I will so that I can regularly update my blog. I had to go through 2 grueling interviews (ok, one mildly difficult one, and one interview that consisted of the IS directory appearing disinterested and making sure I was not an alcoholic). So there you have it! I will once again have a co-op job after a one year layoff (damm, that's a long time to go without full time work).

Oh yeah, the lions also got some new uniforms:

I like the black high tops.
Finnaly updated my link to the blog collective on the sidebar. Come to think of it, I should have added it in this post too. Ahh well, backing up my template file was a much more important use of my clipboard.

Man, why can't my blog be as funny as this one?

April 23, 2003

Well, it's day 2 of my 22 work hours in 2 days. Yeah I need the money that bad so I'm not putting up a fight over the massive hours. I think I'm working sometihng along 50 hours this week! Man, maybe that hard drive upgrade I was planning for mid summer may come by sooner rather than later!

Well at least with this extra money I'm making I can aford to go out at night again...only thing is I'm working Saturday morning. Grr, life has it's way of biting me in the ass. Damm sun, my laptop is facing a window and I keep getting blinded every time I try to look up. Ack!

Well May Meltdownn (as crappy a name as it sounds) is scheduled for May 5th. That's the next SRL sanctioned event at prokart. You know if the races were held on Tuesday we could call it turbo Tuesday! Back to May Meltdown (I"m changing the name as soon as I think of something better). In addition to defending champion Stu, it looks like The Professor will be joining the crew. That's in addition to the already confirmed DP and Boost Monkey. Mondays will never be the same again! Sw0rdFish continues to boycott SRL events as he is very afraid of the challenge put forth by Stu.

No links this blog because I typed it up in linux and I don't have the link function (I would then have to manually type in the a href comments and I just don't have the energy for that).

April 22, 2003

Somebody please explain to me how I get caught doing a 11-4 shift then a 5-11 shift, yet everybody else get's straight 8 hour shifts with a lunch included? Grr, I have to do this 2 days in a row. Jokes on my employer, I'm not going to be productive!
Well boys and girls, Extreme Easter has come and gone and there is a new King in town! It seems that despite the best efforts of Dark Pheonix, who tried in vain to pass me, even resorting to bumping and name calling could not faze the almighty Stu. Stu overcame adversity and finnaly broke the final race jinx that had become a black mark on an otherwise spotless record.

However all in Stuland wasn't gold in the first 2 races. In typical Stu fashion, he threw the practice session and was 2nd last after qualifying. After the first race, Stu was still a 5th place finisher and things were looking bad. But something strange was happening. Maybe it was the wheels comming off of Boost Monkey's car (seriously, he fucked up a car so bad that he lost a wheel...ON A GO KART!) that signaled a change in fortune for Stu. Maybe it was the continuted battle with Dark Pheonix, or maybe Stu had finnaly turned the corner to becoming a bonafied powerhouse in the SRL league.

Maybe it was his 4th place finish in the semi finals where Stu was overheard saying "I found a car that handles good". Maybe it was the pizza. Maybe it was the season changing, but as soon as I finished that semi-final I knew something was going to change.

The starting grid for the final race was posted and guess who had pole position? Stu. He took the race, wire to wire and there was abosluetly zero doubt in any of the observers at the track who was going to win the race. Driving a masterful, mistake free and carefully planned out race, Stu executed his strategy to a T and won the final heat. That gave him enough points to move to 4th overall in the drivers standings for the night and puts Stu in excellent position next time out for a podium finish.

There were others who came, but in the end, there is only one Stu!

April 21, 2003

I was at work all day today (well really from 11-4) and it's boring. Good thing is I got some of my SQL work done (which was due anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks ago). I'm outnumbered by co-ops 4-1 in here and I don't know what to do. Fat chick that's a part timer seems to be hogging all the oxygen around here, making it hard for me to breathe. She also decided it was a good time to show off that she has bigger biceps than anybody else in the office (not that we really wanted to see them) so yes, today sucks. On the plus side, I work from 11-4 and 5-11 tommrow (notice how I get a unintentional dinner break from 4-5...that allows the company to not pay me for lunch...stupid bastards expect me to leave and come back on time....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA).

April 20, 2003

Happy Easter Everybody!

I gotta lay back on the desert combat, been playing wayyyy too much of that game lately (not that I'm complaining though). Well school is done, now I MUST find a coop job ASAP. Well I got to thank my present employer for allowing me to work part time until I get a co-op job, it's nice of them.

Tommrow is the big Extreme Easter race @ prokarts. Post a comment if you plan on showing your ass around the track.

April 19, 2003

Here's the update that Sw0rdFish so desperately wants. Nothing new to report other than massive time has been spent playing Desert Combat. Damm I love that game, my dogfighting skills are begining to improve too, so it's only a matter of time before I can actually shoot down an enemy plane with a sidewinder! Hehe, other than that school is over so with the exception of an assignment due on Monday (that was really due 3 weeks ago) I'm done. YAY!

Oh yeah, picked up the Family Guy dvd on Wednesday (it was sold out from both Best Buy and Futureshop so I had to go to the costco...saved a $4 going there). That dvd rules! Got Jackass for my brother...the golf scenes are better each time I watch them!

April 16, 2003

April 14, 2003

Well, visitor 10,000 is fastly approaching. Who will it be? If you are visitor 10,000, please tag the board!
Hey hey, it's that blog time of day! Well what's up with Stu? Hmm, 2 exams, totaly time spent writing = 30 minutes (and that's being generous). Yeah, Math was pretty easy today and datacomm was...well all of 5 minutes to finish. So there you have the school update.

Sports:

What a day for Canadians! First off Paul Tracy wins his 3rd straight CART race, then Mike Weir answers back by winning the masters! Way to go both of you guys! Watching Weir play makes me wanna play some more golf again. I played once last September with Talon Boy and I'm going to play again as soon as the public courses open up. Anybody wanna join Stu?

Speaking of joining Stu, I have taken it upon myself to sanction the next SRL race for April 21, 2003 at Pro Karts. Yeah another Extreme Easter (hehe, that actually sounds pretty good) will be upon us. All are invited, post on the tag board if you are coming. That's all for today's update, I'll be back tommrow with more news and stories.

April 12, 2003

Well, to confirm the rumors, yes the final exam for networking took all of 5 minutes to finish. That puts my writing to studying ration (wts) at 1:1 since I only studied 5 minutes for it. Hehehe. After that exam was written, I had to go to some stupid staff meeting (my first in 3 working for sheridan) where I made some good notes. I'm gonna type them up tommrow and post them when I should be studying for my next exam. They are actually pretty funny because I go off topic a lot.

After the meeting, a bunch of the CST crew went to Woodbine to watch my dad's horse run. Who's Twining Who finished in 3rd. Maybe the bad feet it has had something to do with it's showing, or maybe it knew the people I was with all put down some extra money on it (haha, suckers, I told ya $5 was more than enough to bet). Well after feeling disappointed from the race, I went to bunker (Brampton Center for the something and something) to see the Battalion lose to St. Mike's 6-3. They did outshoot St. Mikes...it's just the Major's goalie was pretty damm good, and the Brampton goalie sucked.

So after seeing 2 less than impressive performances I decided to call it a night and get some sleep.

April 11, 2003

The good news is I ranked #13 out of 369746. The bad news the search was for sexual hairy women pics.

April 10, 2003

Alright back with another condensed update. After the Preacher complained about the lack of urban combat in Desert Combat (bah) I tried playing on Stalingrad and Berlin. Let me say one thing: For a really intense ground war, nothing beat Stalingrad capture the flag. Yes I know there is going to be a ton of "capture the flag is nothing more than a deathmatch blah blah blah BS"...but personally I couldn't care, because Stalingrad plays better when it's in capture the flag mode because the soviets don't have to start by going up a hill...they start at the other train station, and there is one spawn point to fight over. Had the conquest mode been like this, I think Stalingrad would be more popular.

That's it for today's update. Be back tommrow.

April 09, 2003

I'm slipping here. 2 days without an update. What is wrong with me? I know, between BattleField 1942, and Desert Combat I've lost all focus on my website. If that wasn't bad, on Saturday, I bought 512mb DDR ram, and Monday I bought a joystick and now I'm tottaly addicted to Desert Combat. I've lost control of reality. Many thanks to Robb for making sure I finished my Daemon assignment a whole week early (well the B version at least).

I sat down to do the A version last night around 9:30, but I got a little tired. So I figure, why not take a nap, only an hour and then I'll be refreshed enough to write my project all night long! Well, I open my eyes and it's 2am! Grr, ok, maybe I'll go to sleep and wake up an hour or 2 early and finish the work then (that way nobody will bother me in the morning). Doh, that failed too because I woke up at 8:15! Grr damm sleep. So that's why I'm stuck with a B version of my assignment. Last time I decided to stay up all night to do an assignment, my white corolla was pink in the morning. That's why I gave up on all nighters (and I never really saw the point to them).

So there you have it, a nutshell of my last 2 days.

April 07, 2003

Just finished watching the NCAA final (well the last 2 minutes of it at least...I normally can't stand basketball). Anyways, nice to see white guys doing most of the work. One thing I noticed was how bad free throw shooting is. Isn't that the easiest part of the game to learn? Bah I'll never understand that sport.

Man I'm tired...don't know why, I just am. I've got a job interview tommrow with a company I keep forgeting the name of. Desert Combat occupies way too much of my time. I have to stop playing it. Yeah, like that'll happen. Ahh well there's always something else to do like homework (holds laughter in). Anyways that's it for the update today..nothing much to say other than I'm kinda kicking myself for not going to the F1 race this year.

April 06, 2003

After today's Brazillian Grand Prix, I have to admit: There is no better motorsports leauge in the world than Formula One. They wanted to stir the pot this year and they were successful. Only in formula one could the following happen:

1) The winner of the race was actually in second place for the last lap.
2) The second place car who was leading then lap caught fire after the race.
3) The third place driver couldn't even make it to the podium because he was injured so badly. His crash actually caused the race to stop early.
4) We are 3 races in, and Micheal Schumacher still hasn't won!
5) The race had a rolling start, although offically it's supposed to have a still start.
6) Commentators are complaining about the saftey car saying it does not let the drivers properly asses the track.

This is the same circuit if you remember that last year let Pele drop the checkered flag. Only problem was his attention was distracted by a topless female so he forgot to drop it (I'm not making this up either). So yes, I'm looking forward to the next formula one race, the San Marino Grand Prix. It's a shame I won't have to money to make it to the Montreal race this year ($700 is too much to spend for a weekend event).

Well, at least Jacques Villenuve finished 6th so the BAR Honda has benefited from the rule changes.

April 05, 2003

I just played Desert Combat for 2 hours straight by myself and I can honestly say this game is freaking amazying. Black Hawk Choppers, scud missle launchers, AV8b Harrier jump jets, M124d Hind attack Helicopter, and a Mig29 for good measure. The scary thing about this all is that is only about 10% of the vehciles in the game!

I'm going back to playing some more of this game now. It fucking rules!

April 04, 2003

From here on in, if you ever hear this line, you'll know I blogged it first:

If april showers bring may flowers,
then an April snow will bring a May hoe.

You see how funny that is? Yeah, I know, it's cabin fever, but it took me 20 fucking minutes to scrape the ice off my van today. I've never seen anything like this before. I step on the snow and my foot doesn't sink. My brother almost runs over the curb on the side of the driveway, and I'm begining to think if he did, we could have parked on the grass without a problem in the world. Yes it's been that kind of a winter. Haha, come to think of it, there was even snow like in October. Damm that's a long time to go with snow.

So in closing: FUCK YOU AND YOUR GLOBAL WARMING. IT'S JUST ONE BIG FAT LIE!

April 02, 2003

Hahaha, I'm sure hairy greek is gonna love this search that somebody did.
Just added some Blog Hop code. Rate my site! I also fixed the cursor so it's the default pointer again. Anyways, here's some CSS info for cursors for you guys.

April 01, 2003

Bah, lets see if this post shows up. Stupid blogger.
Happy April fools day! I'm not going to be one of those loser webistes that post false information and then post that they laughed at all the emails they recivied. That's just dumb. If you are going to play a joke on someboyd, you have to be there to see their reaction. Otherwise, it's just stupid.

Anyways today was the first day I was supposed to be out answering helpdesk calls (yay me). Notice how I said supposed to be. That's because when I got here, full timer had not yet arrived. So I figured...whatever, I'll just stop by the ITSC and see whats going on there. I pull the door...it's locked. Hmm, it is 8am and this door doesn't open before 8:30am so I figure nothing is up.

I swipe in and the room is deader than Boost Monkey's sex life. Ahh well, co-op must be fixing some sort of projector (hehe, I just got interuppted while typing this blog, so I took the opportunity to box The Professor in with digital projectors and a table...now he won't be able to leave his cubicle!

Where was I? Oh yeah, dead room, so I walk to b128 and check some e-mail (at tihs point I was thinking one of 2 things: 1) Bomb scare/SARS virus/2 cm of snow on ground caused school closure. or 2) I wasn't supposed to be here until 9am. So I check my e-mail and it confirmed that both of my suspicions were wrong. I was on time and no the school was not closed. I get back to super secured location office with big metal door (Boost Monkey's cage) and to my suprise Boost Monkey is there (actually it was more to my disappointment). Anyways Boost Monkey sends me on a wild goose chase for a person that is not even at school today. Grrr.

Anyways, after a hot chocolate brake (I'm boycotting coffee if you recall) it's off to the ITSC where I find out that some co-ops just can't drive. Hahaha inside joke. Anyways as soon as I found out about the co-op, I volunteered my services to be in the hububub of it all, ITSC (yeah, that's where I work all my other shifts). So bye bye helpdesk calls (in retrospect, it would have been easier for me to do the helpdesk stuff but ahh well).

So 10 am rolls by and we realize the vault can not be opened without a co-op. So since the Maltese co-op ain't here I gotta pick up the Professor. A 20 minute round trip took us an hour (with a stopover at MacDonalds). Since it's 2:02 I'll quickly sum up the rest of my day.

11am-12pm spent fixing laptop users problems. 12-1pm spent playing jitz and avoiding work. 1-2pm spent conversing (urgh) and typing this blog. It's 2:05 now and I'm ready to jet on out. So later all!

Edit...blah publishing ain't working right now...who knows when the world will see this blog.
