December 29, 2003

I know updates have been slow here, but what are you going to do about it? I've been lazy. I haven't really gone anywhere in the past few days. Went to about 4 different car audio shops to get an antenna adapter for my focus, but still no luck. So it looks like I'll just place a special order with the next shop I go into. Pay through the nose. That's what I get for buying a ford. Ahh well, maybe they'll have some in Montreal.

Speaking of Montreal, I'm leaving for there tomorrow morning, so if you didn't already figure it out, this will be my last update of the year. I'm thinking I should do a year in review for me right now, but it's pointless, as a year 2003 had way more downs than ups. In fact too many for me to mention. In 2003 I lost my father (after a huge battle with cancer). That's pretty much why 2003 was the worst year of my life. But I've had good times too, the trips to Niagara, Semester 5 and 6 at school, visitng (in no particular order) Niagara Falls, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Calgary, Banff, Victoria, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Whister, Burnaby, Surrey, Kelowna, Kamloops and Montreal (damm, if I visit Ottawa, that makes it all 6 NHL cities in the same year...hmmm) Oh yeah, I think I found time to graduate somewhere there too.

There were the new friends I've made, the evolution of my blog (some good ones through my blog), the virus memories (hey who remembers the blaster worm?) Don't forget about that major blackout we had in August (I still say that was the best excuse to drink EVER). I think of those who grew closer to me over the last year and those that drifted further away. The advice I was given (both good and bad), the mistakes I've made (and we all know it's been a whole lot more than you've made).

But through all this, I've always managed to keep my head up, spirits high, pants on and make it through (although sometimes with less than a perfect attitude). Some quotes that'll stick with me are : "Stu, you are a very good employee, you just have to learn to keep the wisecracks down to a minimum", "Can I use 802.11b through my Infrared port?", "I need some sugar before I pass out", "You're an asshole" <-- my personal favorite as I was told that about once a day.

Who can forget my MANY SRL victories? How about my 2 court appearances this year? Who remembers Crazy GT stylez? Or Krazy Karts? Or Thugs Of New Brampton? What about Terror With 9 Lives? 2 CST FC seasons. The exam that wasn't (good old drunken teacher forgot to make one!).

Ok this year in review blog has gone on for a while, I'll get around to posting the rest of it when I get back from Montreal.

December 26, 2003

Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas this year! I did. Christmas eve had my whole mothers side of the family come over (18 in total) for a big chirstmas dinner. Christmas day we first went to Hamilton to see my sister at work. Now I'm not one to call people lazy, or say other people have it more/less difficult than me, but come on, when you are making $36/hour and only have ONE PAITENT don't you think something is wrong with the health care system. Wait she's overworked. Yes that is the life of nurse in the maternity ward on Christmas day. Ok, so maybe most of her patients specifically requested they go home for christmas, but it's still funny to see her at "work" with only one patient and getting a premium wage for that shift.

I saw a newborn baby get a hearing test and have bloodworks done. Didn't interest me too much because I'm not really into the healthcare field, but my mom liked looking at the newborn. Then she asked me when I was going to have a kid and I told her the day after I become a millionare.

December 23, 2003

It seems like that even though I'm on vacation I still find a new reason every day NOT to sleep in. Like today for example woke up early to bring the van in today. Tomorrow I'm going to wake up early to bring the fruit platter to the guys at the shop as a christmas gift. Thursday is Christmas, no sleep in there. I might not be able to sleep in until boxing day. Ahh well, at least I'm not working.

December 22, 2003

Rumors of my retirement from Sheridan IT were premature. Just like a bad case of foot fungus that will not go away no matter what you try, it looks like I'll be working a couple more days at Sheridan in January. Yes I am dissapointed in myself too, but I have to admit, Sheridan it's exactly the worst place in the world for the first couple of the semester (MMmmm new students). So yeah, just when I thought I could get away, they pull me back in.

December 20, 2003

It's Saturday and for the last time (hopefully ever) I'm working a morning shift. Yes it does suck, but what am I to do? I'm downloading American Wedding and Cabin Fever. Yes I am THAT bored that I am downloading Cabin Fever. Man how the mighty have fallen. I should have returned my laptop on Wednesday (because I was at work and stuff) but I acted like I was busy so we had to wait a couple more days for my laptop to be returned. Then I found out that when I was imaging a room today, I imaged 4 comptuers that I wasn't supposed to. Doh...ahh well, what can they do? Fire me, like that's going to accomplish anything since Monday is my last day at this job. Ahh well I've had a good run here. If it wasn't for this job, I probably wouldn't have a blog anyway. So for what may be the last blog ever from this job, I say farewell and goodnight!

December 19, 2003

Had my job interview with Grand and Toy today. Went pretty smooth I guess, my favorite part of the interview is:

G&T guy: Yeah I just need to check your references to make sure you haven't killed anybody in your past jobs.
Stu: About that....yeah....well there was this one guy that kind of got into an argument with me and ended up in the bottom of a lake.
G&T guy: But they never found the body yet right?
Stu: Nope, so as long as they don't drain the lake we'll all be fine.

I'm not joking, we actually said that! So who knows, maybe he liked my sense of humor. We'll have to wait until next week to find out.
Happy Birthday Mary-Anne! Yes it's my sisters birthday today.

But what is really important is I got phase I of my car stereo installation complete. I put in my new deck. I think I posted up a link earlier about it...if not too bad for you guys...I'll post it later, I just don't feel like searching for it. Right now I can play some MP3's in my car (one cd has 160 songs on it! I can make it to Montreal without repeating a track!). But what has to happen to me while driving down the 403 to Robb's house? I realize my speakers are shit and I want new ones. Now I've always known in the back of my mind that I'm going to get a new set of speakers, but man I was about ready to pull the car over and buy a new pair right away. So once I get coop my first cheque will be spent on speakers for the front. Knowing me, it's not going to end there, but we'll see how far my ego takes me.

December 17, 2003

Went out for lunch with the guys today. Korean BBQ is pretty good if you can put it paste your head that regardless of what they tell you, it's Dog and Cat meat that you are putting in your mouth. But hey, McDonalds does the same thing and they still manage to serve billions every year. Now I'm at work and spending the last day with my laptop (/me sheds a tear). I'm actually kinda sad to see this thing go, because lately I've been keeping it around me so in the morning when I wake up, I don't have to be bothered by family members when I'm replying to my MSN messages.

Looks like I might be building a second computer for my mom. She's taking night school courses and thinks it's too noisy in the family room to do any work (wow, I said the same thing to her and I'm told to shut up and take it). Well the good thing out of all of this stuff is I'll have an LCD monitor on my computer, since the CRT I'm using now is kinda fading. And plus, LCD would look super cool in my house.

2 days away from the coop interview, I highly doubt I'm going to get the job, but maybe by not putting any pressure on myself I may be able to get the job (wouldn't that be funny). My buddy Yan is also going for an interview with them so we'll see what happens. Last time me and him interviewed for the same job I ended up working at Toys R Us (and we all know how far I went with that job...to the west coast...and Kamloops, but we'll just say the west coast to keep things simple).

Time to get back to some laptops that need to be imaged. Later all!

December 16, 2003

Man things slow down once you graduate. Really, I had the grand idea last night of pulling an all nighter while watching Band Of Brothers. I got through the first episode then fell asleep while watching the second. Today I wake up, check the home line (something I rarely do) and to my suprise, there's a message for me from Grand And Toy. Evidently, they want me to come in for a job interview. So remembering the past mistakes I've made with potential employers, I decide things are going to be different this time. So I take 2 shots of sambuca and call the guy back (figuring that the alcohol in my system would make me more friendly, as it normally works on a Friday or Saturday night). Anyways, to my luck I get voicemail.

So I wait around the phone, watch episode 2 and 1/2 of 3 before he calls back. By then my buzz has worn off and I'm just normal asshole Stu. Well, we'll see how the interview goes, it's Friday afternoon, but I don't know how good my chances are of keeping the job. They want me to start on the 29th, and I'm going to Montreal on the 30th for New Years Eve (wow, conflict of interest!). So I told the guy I can't start that soon, I've got part time commitments (but hey, he still wants to interview me) so we'll see how things go.

December 15, 2003

It's Monday and for the first time in a while, I don't have ANYTHING to do on Tuesday. Man that's such a good feeling. Too bad the rest of the real world can't be like this. Yeah....that's about all I have to say today. Nothing really going on in my world right now.

December 14, 2003

I'll admit it, I don't mind the cold. In fact as long as there's snow outside, I actually like it. With all the fun you can have in the snow, why do people hate it so much? I'll take snow over rain any day of the week. Anyways, what does this have to do with anything? I don't know. Was talking with Talon last night before Bad Santa (good movie btw, go see it if you like to laugh at people that are pure assholes) about school and how differently things could have been if we made different decisions 4 years ago.

Then I got to thinking...maybe I would have been better off if I took business at U of T instead of Computer Science. If that were the case (and I stuck with it) I'd have graduated in May instead of now and my life would have been tottaly different (well there'd be no blog, that's for sure). Who knows hiow much better/worse I would have been. It just made me think about things. Ahh well, 4 1/2 years since making that decision is too late to change my mind (well not really, I'm still young and I don't know if I'm ready to join the real world just yet). All I know is the future is uncertain.

December 12, 2003

IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! In case you are a complete idiot, I wrote my last exam and I'm done! So let the drinking begin! I am done with Sheridan College!

December 11, 2003

Wow, no sleep last night, only 5 hours this afternoon, I'm hungry and I have a business exam tomorrow. Man this stuff sucks, I should start studying very soon, then start drinking after the exam. Yeah, I'm defeintely going out drinking tomorrow night.
It's 2:40am and I'm still studying for java. Doesn't look like I'll be sleeping AT ALL tonight. Oh well, my punishment for slacking off during the semester I guess. Who cares, all I need is a 56 on the exam and I'll make it through the course. Naturally I'm aiming for a 100% (why the fuck wouldn't I set the bar as high as possible, setting it any lower only shows to myself that I accept not being the best). Actually the funny thing is I go into every exam EXPECTING to get 100% on it, just my mindset I guess. Weird how I'm probably the only one in the room that thinks like that yet doesn't put in the hours needed to get those marks. Yeah, I know, it's an ego/slacker issue. I don't really care either as long as I pass the course and get that piece of paper that says I've put in X amount of dollars now hire me.

So I'll update you guys tomorrow with the results of the exam.

December 09, 2003

So here I am, happily driving along with The Professor (don't bother clicking the link, he doesn't update his blog) when on the 401, there's some idiot happily cruising along (in the left hand lane) while in the blind spot of a big rig. Yeah you don't have a death wish. Idiots. But that has meaning to my story. Anyways, picked up my new deck. So anyways, on the way back, I get stopped by RIDE. I figure no biggy, it's been 15 months since I last got stopped by them (ahh foam party memories...I had alcohol in my system that time and still got away with it...umm no I didn't. Kids don't drink and drive!). Anyways, I drop off The Professor, and head on my way home. Guess who I see on Derry Road? STUPID RIDE AGAIN!

Ack, so anyway, I one cop is signaling like he wants me to go through, the other wants me to stop, so naturally I get confused. So I go into there a litte quicker than normal before I realized that I'm supposed to stop. Get on the brakes and my tires squeal fright infront of a cop (stupid tires have turned into a rat on me!) Cop says to me "Take it easy out there!" And right away I can tell he's not too impressed. "Watch how fast you are going".

I'm like "sorry sir" in the little puppy dog voice. So Cop says to me "Have you been drinking tonight?" I say "No I haven't...look I've been stopped by ride once already today..here's my booklet" And I show him the booklet too. Cop (in an obviously disgusted and still angry voice) says "alright, get on your way" and tosses the booklet at me. I don't think he was too impressed with me. So I look over see some poor sap that thought he could get away with a drink or two before stepping car on the side of the road...a little smirk appears on my face knowing that I could have easily got a careless driving ticket if the cop wanted to be a real prick.

Yeah, maybe Monday wasn't so slow after all.

December 08, 2003

And so another Monday at work concludes. Yeah I know, the highlight of my day was seeing that girl bend over while not wearing any underwear. Then as she proceded to talk about her jeans, I said they look nice on you. I doubt she put 2 and 2 together. Thats what kind of day it was for me. Sad really, but that's life @ Sheridan for you! Man less than one week left here, what will I do with myself?

December 05, 2003

We had our last business class today. Last actual class altogether really. Man to think it's already been 3 1/2 years at Sheridan and all I have left is 2 exams. Where did the time go? So many people I met there it's going to be tough to leave, but life will go on. I think right now, what my main problem is I look around and think "What Next?" I mean I know I'm going to have to get a job and work for the next 40-50 years but can you blame me for wanting to go back for another year if I could. This raises the question of what the hell would I do if I go back? Just delay moving on with my life? There's not much left for me to do at Sheridan. Well nothing that interests me of course.

I don't see myself working full time just yet. I'm only 23 after all. I know there's people around that can't wait to get out of school, but for me, I keep asking myself "what's the rush"? Maybe my outlook is a little blurry because I don't have a job lined up at the moment. Who knows, all I know is that long 3 years I signed up for as a 19 year old went by in the blink of an eye. I'm now 23 and ready to move on to the real world, but would prefer to stay in school for just a bit longer.

December 03, 2003

Barry Sanders. True Pro Athlete. The man is a legend and he had the balls to walk away at the top of his game (unlike Emmit Smith) when he knew he couldn't handle it anymore. But what you do end up respecting the guy for most is his personality. A millionare that never bought a new car (always used from his teammates), his house was never that expensive (I remember hearing he was living in a $250,000 home at the time of his retirement) and he wouldn't change himself just so you would like him. That says a lot. Espically when there are people out there who can't stand the fact that somebody may or may not like them. So to Barry Sanders, I give you my personal seal of approval! Sure I'm a little biased that he was my favorite player of all time, but that's beside the point.

December 02, 2003

CST FC's championship dreams came to a crushing halt today. But you know what, even though we got beat 7-3 I'm proud of the guys for giving it their all on the floor today. Our star player was busy doing his school work, so Celeste didn't show up. That left us with 5 people. Waldo was shaking off the flu, and Clive wasn't feeling too well either. But you have to admire them for coming out and giving it their all. Not to mention Yan and his 2 goals and Randy's opening minute goal that totally shocked the crap out of Metro United. At half we were down 3-2 and if we had just one sub, I think we could have taken those guys. But we didn't have the legs out there.

So good work on a great season guys! One more game for the bronze medal, lets go out there and retire CST FC on a winning note, we owe it not just to ourselves, but to CST FC to do it!
I love the first snowfall of the year. Nothing beats coming out of B222 at 12am, waving at the security gaurd, heading to a parking lot and watching as Mike and Yan try their best to swing their cars around the lot. Man that's some good action. It helps a whole lot too that there are no lightposts to worry about in the parking lot. So you see people, winter can be fun as long as there's snow. What really sucks is when it's cold and there's no snow on the ground.

December 01, 2003

Man do I have some sappy blogs on my list. First there is Robb. Ok, he gets a pass because of what happend to him this weekend, can't really blame him for his blog. Then there is Yan who seems like he's lost out there somewhere. Then there is CST Crew webmaster Ed. Gotta give him credit, he's putting on a good face. Then there's Mike and his clog. Yeah, it's not a blog, but I figured since the rest of the CST crew is getting their plugs in, I'm going to push his site (sorry about not adding you to my template, I'll put it up today...I swear!).

Those are the guys (with Blogs and a clog) that I've been going to school with for the past 3 years. Sure there's still Arthur and Steve, but I guess they never wanted to write a blog. Maybe I didn't inspire them enough or something. Yeah I know what you people are thinking right now, Stu is about to blow his own horn for being the first in CST with a blog blah blah blah. Well I won't say that today. Sure my blog is almost 17 months old and has gone nowhere that I expected it to go, but there have been some good times.

November 29, 2003

I'm begining to get used to asshole Stu. Today asshole stu went to subway and used his asshole like charm to get a whole 1 cent off his sub. I know it doesn't seem like much, but pathetic attempt at being nice Stu would never have had the balls to pull off something like that. So what's the moral of this story? Nothing actually, except I'm no longer going to give a pathetic attempt at being nice, I'm just going to be a total asshole and get one cent off my subs. Well anyways, work is done, I managed to watch How High during work today, not a bad movie. Who knows what the future holds in store for asshole Stu?

November 28, 2003

Does it make me an asshole if I push Steve out of the way to open a door for 2 random females? I'm struggling with this question today as I waste 2 hours of my life in business class. On one hand, I opened the door for 2 ladies, and they seemed to take a liking to my kindness. On the other hand, I pushed Steve out of the way to do it (well not really pushed, more like jumped in front of). Yeah, it's a really slow day today, but there's only an hour and 20 minutes left before I can go home. So I think I'll be wrestling with this problem for a while. Ahh well, I'll play some more Madden when I go home.

November 27, 2003

I've played Madden 2004 for 3 months now, and NHL 2004 for 2 weeks, and I can honestly say that Madden is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than NHL. Not just because I'm a bigger football fan than hockey, but because you can sense that there is much much more polish in Madden than NHL. It just feels like a more complete game than NHL. From the controls to the interface to the gameplay, I have much more fun playing Madden than I do NHL.

November 26, 2003

I can't believe I slept 12 hours last night. Man that felt really good. Not like I did anything that would have tired me out yesterday. Went to be around 12:15, and woke up around 12:30. Felt really good to get that much sleep, considering I have to be up for another 8am class tomorrow. Ahh well, WHERE THE FUCK IS DP? He told me he's up for Madden, I've been online for 10 minutes, and not even a message from him!

So I guess I'm blogging to kill the wait before the game. This sucks, I'm all ready to lay another beating down on him too.

November 25, 2003

Man, in life few things are more satisfying than revenge. I don't know why we always feel the need for it, but it's there and the only thing we as humans can do is act upton that need. But let me tell you, once you get your revenge, it's sooooo sweet. Nothing like getting somebody back for something (I know this sounds petty, but I felt the best I've felt in a long time this morning see my energy level before the soccer game which got cancelled by the way as proof) that they thought was a dead issue. Man I felt better about myself today than I have in a long time.

November 24, 2003

Whoa nelly, I think DP and myself may have had the greatest online Madden game ever! Here's the situation, Packers (played by me) -Broncos (DP). Packers come out to a quick 14-0 lead and things are going smooth. Bronco's punt, fumbled punt, Bronco's recover and score a TD. Next drive Brett Favre throws an INT, Bronco's score another TD. Game is tied. Bronco's score another 4th quater TD. By the time I finally get the ball back, it's with 48 seconds and no timeouts in the 4th quater. On 3rd and 10, Favre launches a Hail Mary to the 20 yard line...Driver catches on, my first instinct is to get out of bounds...but I break a 2 tackles and suddenly there's no need to go to the sidelines when the endzone is wide open. 77 yard TD catch to tie the game up! Overtime, Plummer throws up a ball, it's picked and I return it for a TD and an improbable come from behind victory over the Broncos, 27-21!

Only in Madden!

November 23, 2003

If I hear Another Perfect Day one more time during an NFL game I'm going to go insane. I must have heard that song while vintage NFL clips and some canned footage of highschool and schoolyard football were shown about 15 times today. Sure that clip of the Lions players from years passed (I forget the exact year, I'll check it up later, but I know it was Robert Porcher and Gus Ferotte in there so it had to be circa 199 or 98).

November 21, 2003

Let me get this straight: 100 km/h winds last Thursday, Snow a week ago, yet today it's only 13, yet feels much warmer than that and nice and sunny. Ok, I'm not supposed to know much about weather, but shouldn't the days be getting colder not warmer in November? Ahh well, I'm not going to complain about it.
Friday morning. My alarm went off at 7am, I was still in bed at 7:20, that's when I decided to get up...I made it one step away from my bed before I collapsed back into bed. Fuck it, I'll wait another 10 minutes. And the wait was well worth it (well not really), 7:30 I finally got out and faced the brave new world ahead of me. Yeah operations planning in business is really fun. Whatever, I still can't get over the fact that only 9 people showed up today...yet there's 10 laptops in the room. Seems somebody showed up but couldn't stand to be in here so they walked out. 8:45, breakfast break isn't for another 15-20 minutes. We'll see how this class goes.

November 20, 2003

I just realized I haven't posted a picture this month, so here's a self portrait from my Montreal trip. I've got no clue what I'm looking at either.

I finally got around to changing the burned out fuse in my Ford. So thats why the cigarette adapter never worked. Ahh well, maybe I'll know more for next time. Also I figured since it's a nice day today, I'd wash my car. As we all know, birds fly south for the winter. However what some of you may not know is, birds flying south in the big V can drop 9 simultaneous bombs on your car while you are going through a stop light. Yes that's right, NINE! And it's the green goose shit too, not the white seagull crap we are used to. Man, since when did my blog become a discussion of the different types of bird shit?

November 19, 2003

Tt's Wednesday. Let's recap how my day went:

8am...woke up, realized work doesn't start until 4pm, went back to sleep.
9am...woke up again, rolled over went back to sleep.
9:30am...woke up...again...rolled over...couldn't fall asleep
10am...got out of bed, watched back to back episodes of dawsons creek...if i can't sleep through that, i don't deserve to sleep.
12pm...didn't sleep, still in PJ's, heated up some pasta for lunch
12:30...check e-mail and boards...nothing important
1pm...decide to play NHL 2004 USA 3-Canada 1...urgh, I got beat by those filthy Americans
1:30pm...rematch....USA 2-Canada 0...urgh, even worse that I got shut out
2pm...decide it's time to clean up the basement
2:30pm...get the vacum cleaner ready to clean the basement
2:55...actually use vacum
3pm...cleaned basement for 5 minutes, time to shower and go to work
4pm...arrive at work
4:15pm..actually start working
6:15pm...Coop leaves to get dinner
6:20pm...steady rush begins, i sit down for no more than 2 minutes at a time
7:30pm...rush ends and food arrives
8:00pm...finish eating
9:50pm...write this blog

So that's my day in a nutshell. Yes it's an exciting life around here. Goodnight!

November 18, 2003

I put in my contact the wrong way this morning and it's still hurting like a bitch. I think I'm going to leave school at 9 today because it's bothering me that much. But that brings up a interesting debate. If the ride home is only 5 minutes, and I got a 10 minute break, is it really worth it for me to bother coming back to class. Because class will be over by 10:30 anyway, and you have to factor in motivation and willingness to return. I think I'm going to stay home. Well I have a soccer game at 1 today so I'll have to come back for that, but I think when 9am break rolls around I'm going home for a few hours.

*update*

My eye is feeling a bit better. I think I might stay after all.

*update*

November 16, 2003

Lets see what's happend since my last blog? Well, went to Montreal on Thursday night. Great trip highlighted by a visit to the Peel Pub. Friday was the drive back to Toronto through snow and a stop at the big apple (mmm, apple pie). Saturday was the Dianasaur's birthday which will forever be remembered as the day Ian opened the door to subway screamed inside and walked away. That's the condensed version of my last 3 days.

The expanded version includes such memories as Mike trying to annoy me with the constant crushing of a plasitc bottle, almost losing the car going 150 on the 401 somewhere between Cornwall and Montreal, almost losing the car going 80 on an off ramp while talking to my cousin on the phone (wow, 2 near death experiences in 1 day!), picking up Bubbles from Long Island on the side of the street at 3am in Montreal, a visit to Ruebens (man that sandwhich was one of the best I've ever had), ride home with no CD player (never again, I'm buying a deck very soon), that huge accident on the other side of the highway that had traffic backed up for 5km! never finding Kingston Penn (damm, I wanted a picture of that place too), almost passing the unmarked cop car going 160 (haha, I remember saying to Ian...damn this guy is driving fast)

There was the big TD run and catch where the whole defence stopped moving Saturday afternoon...man if felt good to sprint 60 yards, the sliding catch in the endzone (ok, I showboated a bit, but come on), calling Mike only to have him drive right by me, the lineup to the club (those bouncers really suck) seeing Robb at the club and watching Jackass on TV, the ho that stuck her ass right in Robbs face while Karen looked on (I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that), the bouncers being losers (why the fuck should I have to wait in line to go to another level of the club)...umm a bunch of other things too, but this blog has gone on long enough.

It's 9am Sunday, I'm on 4 hours sleep and the Lions game starts at 4:15.

November 13, 2003

Yeah so what if this blog is a little late. Sorry to all my loyal readers who expect a new one in the morning....I got lazy. Well anyways, it looks like I'm going to Montreal tomorrow to help Mike with the Montreal Mission (details are confidential so I can not say anymore than Montreal Mission...which does give away too much, but ahh fuck it). Anyways, we are heading down tomorrow afternoon, going to spend the night in a very expensive hotel and come back Friday. Sounds like fun! So yeah, no blog on Friday (well most likely not until the evening) and a short one tomorrow...although this may count as tomorrow's so...ahh fuck it). But I'm brining my camera with me, so there's going to be some pretty nice pictures Montreal and the party that never stops down there. Well I gotta get some sleep. I just took out my contacts and have to wait 20 minutes before I put in my eye drops, so I figured what better way to kill time than to blog?

November 11, 2003

Hmm, I think the new Stu just traded in his morning apple juice for something better. Me and Robb went to Tim Hortons for our morning bagel and beverage of our choice. Despite Robb claiming that he would be ordering a hot apple cider (I sure do love cider) he broke down and instinctively ordered a tea with the bag in. Needless to say, I taunted the shit out of him with my apple cider (did I mention how much I'm hooked on it....I love it so much that I don't even care if there's all that crap floating at the bottom of it, it just tastes that good). But that brings me back to a good point...how often do you get in the habit of ordering a certain item that when you want to try something new you can't because you are so used to what is old and normal. I haven't had a coffee in a couple of weeks...well thats not true, had one on Saturday morning, but I've almost cut coffee out of my diet.

November 10, 2003

W00h00, happy birthday to me! I gotta bust out the birthday cake again!

November 07, 2003

My alarm went off on time this morning, but I had absolutely zero motivation for getting out of bed. Well that's not true, I did get out of bed for a second, convinced myself I had a headache (so that's how women do it) and went back to sleep for another hour. Second attempt at getting out of bed my left ankle was sore for no reason (I don't remember hurting it yesterday) and my right knee was pretty sore (but that's to be expected because I did dive alot during the soccer game). So right there I should have taken a hint and not bothered coming to school, but as the genius I am, I still continue with my daily treck to school (well 3 days a week at least). On my way in, I grab one of my halloween tic tacs (Mmmm, orange tictacs) when I dropped my last one! DOH! Nothing worse than dropping your last tic tac. CST boards are down right now so that's already 3 strikes against me, and it's not even 10am. What next? Actually statistics point towards something good happening to me, so who knows, maybe I'm building up on the bad luck so I get something really good happen to me. In a warped kind of world, maybe I'm on to something. Who knows?

November 06, 2003

Woke up this morning (no I'm not going to type the lyrics from the Sopranos) at 6:50 (mental alarm clock went off). My alarm doesn't go off until 6:55 so I figured, WTF, I'll just go back to sleep and enjoy the last 5 minutes of my sleep. Well I close my eyes, open them up again, and BAM! 8:05! Nice, I how I turned 5 minutes and getting to class on time into an hour and 10 minutes and late for class. Trust your mental alarm next time kids. Anyways, I get to school and who do I see in the parking lot? BoostMonkey. Had I been 1 minute later to school, I could have run him over with my Focus (haha, just kiddin buddy, thanks for the Apple Cider!) So after a slight detour which involved a trip to Tim Hortons (hey you can't be later than late can you?) I get to class, only to find out that the network won't let me communicate with the outside world! AHHHHHHHH! That really sucked because for 45 minutes I couldn't blog. Well here I am, 10am blogging while Ed (I think I'm Jesus because I'm wearing sandles in November) rants on about Assignment 3. Well moral of the story here is listen to your mental alarm.

November 05, 2003

I know I said I'll keep my political ranting to a minimum now that the PC party has lost power, but come one, when you are just 2 weeks into office and you are already breaking another campaign promise, don't you get the sense that these guys have NO FUCKING CLUE OF WHAT THE HELL TO DO. Fuck man, how could anybody have voted Liberal because "we needed a change". Well here's your change, things are going downhill now thanks to those idiots who voted Liberal. But hey why bother fighting with them right? Because when Harris first took power, all he did was live up to his promises (because he knew he could keep them) and tell the critics where to go. It's going to be a long 4 years.
It feels good to sleep in on a Wednesday. I know I don't have much more of this left (I think only 2 months worth) so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Anybody hiring for co-op that needs an employee? No, well I tried for today. It struck me last night that now with the reduced schedule of classes at school, it really is the begining of the end for the CST crew. We've gone from seeing each other 5 times a week down to 3. Soon we'll be lucky enough to see each other once a month if that (assuming people don't sell out). It's kinda depressing when you think about it, but ahh well so is life right. Can't believe I'm less than half a semester away from graduating (man can I even spell that word right...scary). Maybe fate will play us a different card and we'll all end up working together (that'd be funny to see who the first of us to get fired will be).

November 04, 2003

Well other than the no game for CST FC (it was rescheduled to later in the week) this has been a pretty dull day. I installed a new light fixture in my family room (well 2 actually). The first one sparked pretty good on the test light (it was pretty funny when I realized I had the ground wire crossed with the black one) I thought I blew a fuse (which would have been funny because Home Depot takes back anything for an exchange), but in the end, it was just a spark. We put some energy saving lightblubs in the family room so now instead of 4 60 watt lightbulbs, we have 4 14 watt blubs which means we are using a quater of the energy we used to. Ain't that cool? Bring on the higher hydro rates!

November 03, 2003

I think there is a curse on me preventing me from sleeping in Monday mornings. I don't have to be at work until 11, but yet, I still think I need to wake up at 8. Adding to the fact that I set my alarm for 9 not 10 and there is definetly some higher power preventing me from sleeping in. Funny thing about the 8am wakeup was I got a text message at 8:10 so I had to leave my bed to see how (un)important it was. But the good thing was unlike most working sapps, I got to stay in bed afterwards for 2 whole hours. Yup, Monday's aren't so bad after all. Sucks that I have to wait until the evening for my wings.

November 02, 2003

Was reading up headlines on espn.com when I came across the White Sox and possible hiring of Cito Gaston. When teams like the Detroit Tigers have the season they did and you got teams like Pittsburgh who haven't had a winning season since 1992 (hey that was the year Cito won the first of his 2 world series titles) oh yeah and then there is Oakland who have lost 8 or 9 straight chances to close out a series you wonder why this guy hasn't been hired. Other than Joe Torre how many managers can say they have won consecutive world series titles? Wow and one of them has been out of a job for 7 years. Amazing.

November 01, 2003

Played some football today, besides catching the game winning touchdown, I think I may have injured my left middle finger when I caught a ball awkwardly in warmups. Other than that I feel fine today, my legs aren't as sore as they normally are after a game, but that has more to do with the dry field than anything else. I know I talked about not buying anymore beer, but I really sucked at pool on Friday without my beer power. Towards the end of the night I started to regain my form, but it was scary for a bit to see the way I was playing.

October 31, 2003

You know what feels good? When you are right, people ignore you and then they realize they should have listened to you all along. Yes this brings us back to an incident from a few weeks ago and a great which hunt that followed it (yes I'm being vauge for reason) but those involved with an incident know what I'm talking about. See believe it or not, there are people out there in the world that don't like Stu (yes I'm as shocked as you are). But what Stu has developed over time is a 6th sense for sensing these people. When Stu senses that a person doesn't like him, he's always right, and when he makes an accusation, you should listen up, instead of blaming all the wrong people Robb.

October 30, 2003

Wow, what a finish. CST FC scored with no time remaining to win 5-4. What made this win extra special was the fact that CST FC battled back from a 4-1 deficit (all my fault might I add) and a goalie taking one right off the face (that was the best 3 hour nap of my life when I got home though). This game was an epic battle that showed just how much more heart CST FC has than the rest of the league. With a 4-1-1 record, we are definetly riding some sort of a hot streak. This is the second game we've managed to score in with time expiring. Last time it was to tie the game up at 2-2 (the start of our unbeaten streak). Good work boys fighting back and not quitting! That's how you can tell who a true champion is.

As for me, yes I did take a ball right off the side of the face (another 2 inches to the right and my nose would have been busted wide open for sure), I did feel a little out of it, but I managed to wait for a whistle and get the hell off the floor (my ego won't let the play stop on account of an injury). But I'm feeling fine now.
It's gameday, but like any other Sunday half the fun is the anticipation before the game starts. If you can't get excited over the anticipation before the game, maybe you need to find yourself a new sport. So CST FC looks to keep their winning ways going against some other team today. As long as we can keep our defensive system in tact and put the ball away when we get the chance, we'll come out on top. I'm playing injured today as I have a minor cut on my left ring finger. But being the trooper I am, I'll fight through the pain.

Work sucked yesterday, highlight of my day was going to Tony and Jim's for dinner (around 8). It sucks though that it took 25 minutes to cook a panzarotti and 2lbs of wings. It's good though that I had a beer during that time (For those keeping score, that's the 2nd job this year that I've had a beer during company time...I'm such a bad ass it's not even funny). The panzarotti was really good, the wings (well I didn't order them) were dry and rubbery. Needless to say, I'm not going back there for wings (not that I ever really went there to begin with). Turtle Jacks has the best wings in my opinion. Dammed expensive (except on Monday nights when they are half price). Come to think of it, I haven't had ribs in a long time. That's going to have to change now that my birthday is coming up and I can con somebody into paying for them.

October 29, 2003

It felt good to sleep in this morning, a shame though when you go to bed upset about something. So lets see what's up? Well there's no more project planning courses at Sheridan for me to have to sleep through. Man those classes had to be some of the worst waste of our tution dollars since hiring me for IT. So it's 11:40 am and I have nothing to do until 4 when I work. No homework to do, so that's always a relief. Wow, I'm really bored right now. Maybe I'll play some more Madden or something.

October 28, 2003

In one of the hardest fought battles of all time, CST FC has contiuned their winning streak. Not by being faster, stronger or trying harder, but by default. Yup, seems my shutout streak has restarted itself. We were supposed to play a new team (I only found out about the game last night) until it turns out that this new team forefited (bunch of quitters) and this new team was all female (damm I wanted to share the change room with them too). Ahh well, I think we are 3-1-1 right now heading into the big Thursday matchup.

October 27, 2003

I go to school for the unexpected. Whether it's the disgusted looks when I say lines like "fiesta" or "it's all about the bounce" to female students, or when it has something to do with your homework. Today in simulation, Jim (the instructor) was looking over my help desk simulation project when he said something that totally took me off guard.

"That's a good use of object oriented design. Can I use this code to teach future students".

Now let me explain something about this code. It's nothing ground breaking or earth shattering at all. In fact, it's very basic stuff. In fact, here it is. For those that have done java before, you'll know it's not above the difficulty level of a student learning java in his or her 3rd or 4th week.

It felt good to know that something I did at 2am will be used to teach future levels of students who will do nothing more than change the variable names and submit it. They'll look at my code, think I'm some good programmer (haha, wait until they see what I got on the midterm) and somewhat respect me. I feel important now. Weird how something so simple can do so much for one person. I'm Stu Gautz, and this is my cheesy ending line.

October 26, 2003

So I've come to the decision that maybe I should reduce my beer intake for a bit. I dunno, I just had the thought while drinking and watching the football game today. When I say reduce beer intake I do not mean less alcohol, I'll just have to find other ways to consume alchohol (ie. more mixed drinks and shooters). Maybe it's a part of the New Stu, who knows. All that can be certain is at my birthday there'll be less beer going in and more drinks of other types.

And while I'm talking about alcohol, one thing I don't mention enough is how much I hate coolers. I can't stand these things. Now I know some people like them, and I'm fine with that, hey anything that gets women drunk is fine by me! I just can't stand the amount of sugar that goes into those drinks. So as I finish off one of my last bottles of Blue (if somebody buys me a beer, I'm not going to turn it down btw) I remember all the good times I've had with beer, as well as the bad and the ugly (we don't need to go into that section on this blog). Now where did I put that bottle of rum?

October 23, 2003

This site is certified 41% EVIL by the Gematriculator

Yup, I am 41% evil, only blog that's linked to mine who beats me is DP at 49% evil.
Today is the day of the big job fair. Well not really, there's only one big IT company hiring about 80 positions. So I better be on my best behaviour, act friendly, say the right things and most importantly not screw up. See that's how you know you have confidence in your abilities when you are planning to not screw up instead of doing something right. It's the difference between running a conservative offence, and going to an all out attack. Sure both ways could get you to score. One might be quicker, but you could also crash and burn. The other, may take longer and be a bit tougher, but if you don't succeed you will get the feeling of having not really moved anywhere.

So wish me luck, as having a full time job before I graduate would be an ideal situation for me (even allowing me enough money to spend New Year's Eve in Vegas or Cancun or some other warm location instead of another Niagara Falls incident).

October 22, 2003

Wow, 3 workday posts in a row. I'm going to have to hold back my excitment because there is so much of it. Well not really, but you get the idea. So yeah, only 5 hours, 45 minutes left until I go home. Work sucks. That is all, but the money is good.

October 21, 2003

And so another day is upon me and again, I'm at work. I actually arrived a couple minutes early today. So what's a guy to do at work? Well, I was supposed to clean labs, but The Professor volunteered to take over the task so I could write up a couple CRM calls instead. Well, long story short, I finished my job in 20 minutes, and he's still working on his. Haha, sucks to be him I guess. Other than wiring more network cables, I've done absolutely nothing (in fact, I've been told that I'm doing too much work and making people around here nervous). Oh yeah, some good looking girl came in today, yeah she wasn't bad looking at all. You know I'm bored when I'm talking about stuff like that. It's a shame Barb helped her instead of me.

October 20, 2003

See I write posts like the ones below to get a reaction out of people. I don't care if it's good or bad, it's a reaction. The below post worked because I see two messages on my tag board (which hasn't been raided in a while). Anyways, I was back at work today, I think I wired about 15 ethernet cables and that was it for the day. I really need to borrow the crimper because I think I have a few loose ends at home. Maybe I'll do that later on in the week. Man the new poutine at Sheridan sucks.

October 19, 2003

Ok, time to address a serious issue here. I told you guys earlier about an article depicting the crew as a bunch of pervs. What that article fails to mention is the message board was actually a town hall for the kids in class where we freely exchanged ideas and thoughts about what was going on in class. Was there a photo album? Yes. What the article doesn't mention about the photoalbum is the ratio of male to female pictures in there. Odd that there's more guys in these pictures than females. Although, you are only doing a random sampling and only remember the female pictures, you'll tend to write an article like that. But good reporting on Kate Chandler's part I must say. You do a writeup on a website without contacting the webmaster. Yup Kate Chandler you are going places! Get ready to write program descriptions for TV guide!
Felt I should update today since I didn't update the last 2 days. Nothing much happend this weekend, the New Stu is still braking new grounds and going places the old Stu never went. But other than that, it's been pretty much a normal couple of days for Stu. Reading week is this week, so I'll have a ton more free time to catch up on all the sleep I've been missing, as well as put in a few extra hours at work so I can make some more money. I'll update later with something important maybe.

October 16, 2003

Well, since whoever it was that tried to bring down the crew obviously failed and is a coward, I feel free to take potshots at them. So, whoever you are (*cough* Steve *cough*) I am mad at you and will not rest until your life is miserable. Bah, that takes too much effort, maybe I'll just take pictures of everybody in my class, and post them on this site one by one until I get a complaint. That will be followed by the biggest FU blog mankind has ever seen.
Best thing about this country is we go from a 5 party system to a 2 party system with just one merger. Well that and I can take pictuers of whoever I want in public places.
You know what sucks in life? When a group of good friends have a message board, where we make fun of each other as well as other people, and somebody complains to a teacher about it. See I have nothing wrong with offending people...I try to do it as much as possible sometimes, but when somebody is offended, I like to know about it. Don't fucking run and cry to somebody else. Tell me it bothers you and I'll continue to do it more. That is all. Yes rats get too much protection, what's funny is that rats eat rats.

October 15, 2003

Yes it is true, F1 racing is back in Montreal! As Sw0rdFish reported, a deal has been struck. Seems Mr. Ecklestone, Mr. Williams and Toyota realize that 2 races in the North American market are better than one. Too bad the race is too dammed expensive for me to go visit again. Ahh well, I went last year, once is enough for me.

Funny thing about this is in the article, Frank Williams says he needed the Montreal race as a second North American venue to entertain clients, but Ron Denis from McLaren doesn't like that fact that Montreal bought their way back onto the calender. Hmm, sounds a little like there were a few more politics than meets the eye. And for the record, Compaq and Budweiser are still both American companies last time I checked and both major sponsors of the Williams team. Do you see that same sponsorship exist on the McLaren cars? Hmmm.
I know the days are getting shorter and all, but this is rediculous. I've had at least 3 seperate occasions today where I did not know what day of the week it was. Between Thanksgiving and my Java midterm and just general stuff going on in life, I'm confused as to what the hell day it is. I've finally mananged to figure out that I"m in the middle of the week, the same distance from both weekends (well...the Saturday one is closer by about 3 hours).

I've managed to successfully connect my two routers so my two computers (don't ask) can work fine together. I think I'm the only one that's proud to boast a 1:1 router to computer ratio at home. I'll probably buy a new system in the winter if I get a good coop job.

October 14, 2003

Damm I'm slacking off with my postings. Just got back from a soccer game I didn't know existed until 15 minutes before kick off. And to save you the suspense, after 3 scoreless halves, my shutout streak was broken with 7 minutes left in the second half, on a questionable goal. Meh I don't care, as long as the team wins, I'm happy. Of course, I think I only had to make 6 or 7 stops the whole game. We tottaly beat up on Davis FC 7-1. The wealth was spread around as Celste had 3, Clive had 2, Sw0rdFish and Yan both had one.

We don't play until October 30th, which really sucks, because I was really getting into a rythm and you could tell the team was coming together. Such is scheduling. Our record stands at 2-1-1 and we are unbeaten in our last 3. So let's hope we continue this momentum.

October 12, 2003

Didn't update yesterday due to filming, today I was out for thanksgiving lunch. So instead of almost missing 2 straight days of updates, I'll add this quick one here while I watch the 49ers-Seahawks game. Mmm, turkey, I had a lot of it today. That's what's good about thanksgiving, eating turkey. And pumpkin pie. But more turkey than anything else. Although when you are with family, it sucks that you can't just lie down on the couch and watch more football while you sleep. But seeing family and having everybody mad at you for constantly flashing them...with the camera (get your minds out of the gutter) can be fun as well.
Revenge is a mother fucker. (Pun Intended)

October 10, 2003

Wow, 4-0, my first shutout. Although this is one of the games where the defence should get the credit for the win, not the goalie. They didn't let the other team get too many clean chances and they always cleared the rebounds. Good work guys, let's try to make it 2 in a row heading into the break. A 2-1-1 record sounds much better than a 1-2-1 or 1-1-2 record.
Decided on having something greasy for breakfast. In the "New Stu" world that means I get the Canadiana. Anybody who hasn't gone been to Sheridan college for breakfast has no clue what I'm talking about. It's a BLT on an english muffin with an egg so it can be classified as a breakfast meal. Yup, and really greasy. Put a chocolate milk next to it, and that's some good breakfast. I'm offically off the double double and a bagel. Coffee will be rare in my world, that's for sure!

And in other news, seems like the Liberals are already backing out on their election promises. Wow, they haven't even taken control of the legislature yet and already they are flip flopping. We are in for a really fun 4 years. Congradulations Onatrio, you guys wanted a change, and now we got one. Compare this to what Harris did his first month in office. Yeah, good choice chosing McGuinty.

October 09, 2003

Chalk this one up in the I never thought this day would come column. Seems that Condition Zero has finally gone gold. I seriously thought this day may never come as it's not much of an upgrade (ok there is single player) to the original Counter Strike game. But hey, only took them 2 years of delays and about 3 different defvelopers so you know it's going to be good. Right people? Right? Sad thing is I'll buy the game as soon as it comes out.

October 08, 2003

By now everybody and their mother knows Schwarzengger the fondler/nazi/best politician out there (I would have voted for him if I could) has won. Yes we all know that 3 days before the election, payed democrats...errr gold diggers...err attention seekers...err women claimed Arnold sexually assulted them in one form or another tried to derail his bid to become governor because you know, now that the 7 years have passed since the incident, it's time to try to make money off of it or at least get your name in the news. Stupid people.

Anyways, in the real shocking upset of the night, Larry Flynt edged out Gary Coleman in the also ran category. Seems only 15,155 wanna be porn stars voted for Mr. Flynt while 12,549 never want to see another Gary Colemen acting job again and were willing to put their state ahead of their TV. And what's more suprising was that only 9,855 perverts voted for the Adult Film actress Mary Carey. But I say if you are going to run for anything make sure you a) don't come in last. b) do something special like get arrested in order to get in the news and most importantly c) Get more than 171 votes in a state with something like 30 million people. Yes Todd Richard Lewis I am talking to you.

October 07, 2003

Well CST FC had their best game by far today. A come from behind 2-2 draw. Just as it seemed CST FC was headed towards another defeat, Stu breaks up a 2 on none play that most other goalies surely would have let a goal get by. Keeping my composure, I moved the ball up court where Celeste our star striker nailed the game tying goal with a whole 2 seconds left. A flair for the dramatics, that's for sure. Good work boys!

In the Madden world, my Lions had problem defeating the Eagles 34-21 in the wild card round of the playoffs. I think I may have had my best day as a qb going 13-15 for 201 yards and 2tds. That's efficency baby! I was shocked at just how easy it was...or maybe I am seeing the field much better than before. Of course, having a running back go for 90 yards really helps the passing game. Yup that was one smart draft pick. Actually I think I have 4 rookies in the lineup all contributing as starters. That helps keep the cap space down having that many rookies play.

October 06, 2003

October 04, 2003

Stupid IBM thinkpads and their foward and back buttons on the laptop I lost two blogs (well same post just typed over twice) because of it. So now I'll have to make my update short and sweet. I'm heading out to Daily Planet tonight, knowing what day it is (October 4th). It really sucks when you are ready and your ride hasn't showered yet. But alas time for complaining is over, it's time to have some fun. And yes I still hate it when people send you a message, your reply instantly (hence instant messaging) and the other party takes their sweet time to give you a one word response. (Can you tell that happend to me today?)

I'm debating whether or not i should bring the camera. The No side is winning right now. Maybe next time, I've taken tons of pics of Niagara before anyway.

October 03, 2003

Went to see Sloan last night with Boost Monkey and his girlfriend. Took a couple of pics (well, 180 actually, but most of them aren't worth posting). Funny thing is when I'm drunk, I take pictures that in the morning, I have no clue who these females were (I won't post them either).

A crowd shot

Wait...this guy was supposed to drive me home?!?

October 02, 2003

Today is the Provincial Elections in Ontario day and me being the outstanding citizen that I am had to vote. But when Stu votes, he brings along his camera and takes this picture:

I would have got a better shot, except there was 4 people staring at me and the booths were pretty small this year so there wasn't much cover. But still, you can see what an official Ontario Ballot looks like (and with the proper voting procedure). See Florida, this is why we don't have problems with hanging chads, good old fashioned pencil and paper technology, can never go wrong with that baby!

October 01, 2003

Went to 8am class this morning, except there was no teacher to be seen. You see, this is why I hate 8am classes, because if you go there and the teacher is MIA, WTF did I wake up for? It really pisses me off to see that. So I was pretty upset, until I came home from lunch, watched a bit of the champions league game and took a 3 hour nap (yes because 8am classes leave the whole day ahead of you to sleep, instead of sleeping in and taking the rest of your day in one shot).

So that's my day for you.

September 30, 2003

8am classes suck. But you already knew that. I can't wait for this thing to end so I can get the fuck out of here. Sorry for my bitter tone of voice, but I don't want to be here right now. I'd rather be back in bed sleeping. Went to Turtle Jack's last night, got 2lbs of wings and an evil eye from a waitress (well actually I didn't get it, my table did because of a history between a playboy model waitress and one of the guys there) so yeah...I saw a playboy model last night. What does that have to do with 8am classes? I don't know, but I managed to connect them.

One thing about having that much grease in your system is it goes right through you in the morning. That sucks but ahh well...what happend to the blonde? Haven't seen her since Thursday and I'm left with ugly people (again) in my class.

September 29, 2003

I got my simulation work done today, only to remember that I still have to do something for that programming contest Maybe later. I was watching the making of Madden 2004 (or something like that) on MTV Canada today. Pretty cool even though they talked for half an hour and barely mentioned anything you don't see in EA Sports promo shots (motion capture, bands singing, tons of in game action). Actually the best part of it was when the described how they modeled stadiums (and of course used Fords Field as the lone example). Theyn they showed the beta testers....man I feel bad for those guys, there was absolutely 0 females in their office.
Another Sunday, another day I can't sleep in past 11:30. What is wrong with me, I know I should be sleeping but I can't. However, I have taken to bringing my laptop to bed with me, so I was lying in bed for a while checking up on NFL news earlier today, and I gotta tell you, it was dammed comfortable. Thank god for wireless interweb, that's for sure! What else...umm nothing really.

September 27, 2003

Weird how things work out in life (in more ways than one). Yesterday the only thing holding me back while playing indoor soccer (no, you don't need to know that it was 6-1) was my stomach...today my stomach was fine while playing football, but my legs felt like jello. Then I continued to play for another hour just to make sure I wasn't going through a temporary lapse. Now it hurts to walk. Ahh well, if you can feel my legs right now (sorry guys, it's a ladies only offer) you'd see how little fat is on them.

September 26, 2003

That's it, Wendy's is on the boycott list. I had it about an hour before my indoor soccer game, and 10 minutes in I felt like throwing up. Being the trooper that I am, I fought my way through it, sucked it up and played the rest (while holding the Wendy's down). Needless to say that's the last time I ever do that again.
You know you are bored in class when you changed your first name on classmates.com to your e-mail address so you don't have to pay the site in case other people want to spam you with hello messages. Yes that is how stupid these companies have become.
It's all one big conspiracy. The Onatrio Progressive Conservative party is purposely blowing this election so that they can get all of their big names free for the upcoming federal election in about a year or so. Yup after reading this article about Mike Harris (my favorite politician for the balls he displayed when in office and not overstaying his time) I can tell you that's why my PC party is doing so poorly in this election. All one big conspiracy I tell you. One big conspiracy.

Alright, now that the paranoid political side of me has vented for one day, I can return to normal blogging. I decided to wear a sweat shirt to school this morning and, while the idea seemed good at the time and during the drive, I'm paying for it now. My feet are still cold and this shirt is uncomfortable for some weird reason. It's not exactly cold outside...I think it was 10 when I woke up (degrees not am) this morning...and it's supposed to get to 19, but I just feel cold. Damm...now the sun is out and I left my sunglasses at home. Well I guess I am better off getting used to the fall weather now than the end of October. September mornings are always cold, but the afternoons aren't bad. I need a drink. This business class sucks.

September 25, 2003

Another day another article for me to comment on. This is actually a postive one. It deals with how a school in Quebec is keeping it's male students attention by, duh offering them male stuff. Now this is a great idea except for the $11,000 price tag. I like the fact that guys were carted off and allowed to hold machine guns, see a helicopter (with a female pilot) and play video games. It's stuff like this that schools have to do to attract the male student who has a short attention span (I know because I am one) and couldn't care less about reading Shakespeare or poetry.

September 24, 2003

Here's my latest ripping of an article from cnn.com (no they don't deserve a link). Anyways, after reading about cavemen dumping fish for land animals, I still can't understand how people are commissioned to do these studies. Have you tasted the difference between a New York Steak and a trout? There's no comparision, steak wins out every time. Cavemen (despite their stereotyping) weren't stupid. They knew a good meal when they killed it, and steak was the way to go. Plus you could turn the skin of a cow to leather. I've never seen anybody with a trout hide belt. It just doesn't happen. I can't believe I'm actually going to hit the Post & Publish button on this post. What has this blog become? And yes I am biased because I don't eat fish (except tuna that's been processed and sitting in oil for about a year).
Another day another blog. Only difference is today I've noticed a change. With this whole "New" Stu thing going on, I've decided to put away my shorts for the year. Yes it's a minor step forward, but one that had to be made. The plus side of this is I no longer have to shave my legs (not like I did before anyway). But unlike most people, I don't mind the fall. This is the time of year when leaves change colour and there are 2 days of football on TV (if you don't mind watching US college action). Man I missed those days. Soon we'll see the snow games, games with rain and every weather condition in between.

I'd still prefer summer to go right into winter instead of these fake seasons where it's just cold without the snow (I hate nothing more than cold rain) but I can't complain. At least I don't live in Kamloops.

September 23, 2003

I had a great game of Madden going today. 0-0 in the 4th quater, I had the ball on the 2 yard line with 9 seconds left. I try to let the clock run down to 1 second (so after I kick the FG it's either overtime or I win) when boom it happens -- DP's internet connection decides to time out on him. Well at least my FG against the CPU sub counted and I do have the win on record. Too bad for DP, he still needs to finish a game to get some stats going in his favour. So if you ever get Madden 2004 for the PS2, first check out my uber stats, then challenge StuGautzz (that's 2 z's...don't ask why) to an online game.

September 22, 2003

Anybody else hate it when somebody messages you, you reply and then they don't? That's my gripe of the day (GOTD). Like really...let me send somebody a message then go away. Could you imagine what my blog would be like if I did that? Here's an example

Good morning..... ...... ..... ....... ...... ......

You see how boring that is? So next time you decide to send me a message and don't reply to my reply. Why don't I try the same technique with a phone call.

Person I call: Hello
Me: Hello, how are you?
Person I call: .....
Person I call: .....
Person I call: .....
Person I call: .....
Me: Well aren't you going to say something
Person I call: click

See how pointless that is? Now I think we've all been guility of this (except for me of course...I am the perfect person to message with...wait...no, I'm not...I'm just the perfect person). But still, next time in order to NOT get blocked if you send me a message and get a reply remember that I am will also be expecting another reply so you better be there or else you be blocked.

Ok and since it's Monday and I haven't talked much about football, I'll post a link about one of the good stories in the game. Talk about a good way to avoid the in-laws!

September 21, 2003

It's Sunday morning and despite my best attempts, I can't sleep in past 11:15 am. Third week in a row and I'm up early waiting for football to start. This sucks, I hate the 2 hour waits because I have to sit through these dumb pregame shows in the morning. Well...36 minutes untill game time. Nothing much else to do I guess but blog and eat. Well the waiting continues.

September 19, 2003

It's Friday. Raining hard outside because of the remains of hurricane Isabel. Man when they name a storm after me, it better be a category 5 storm that causes severe damage, or else I'll be dissapointed. No other way about it. But yeah, seems like every 2 minutes me and Estebenes are turing our heads to look out at the window as a new blast of wind and water hit it. You think our position right next to the window has something to do with it?

Hmm...maybe I should be paying attention to this Business stuff that's going on. I think the teacher is talking about import/export but I couldn't care less. Since the people that normally sit at my table were a no show when I came in (10 minutes late) I decided to sit with Estebenes because he looked so lonely all by himself. Oh yeah...cute blonde girl is at the table right next to his so that might have had something to do with it. Anyways, no sooner did I begin to whip it out (my laptop that is) did Robb come strutting his 90 year old stuff. Gives me a dirty look because I'm not at his table..and sits at a different table.

So day 3 of my new changes seem to be going fine. I managed to get more sleep by showing up to class 10 minutes late instead of 10 minutes early. See, that's an extra 20 minutes of sleep I added to my day right there. I didn't shave either so that's another 10 minutes. You see how easy it is to nickle and dime your way to more sleep? One of these days I'm going to forgo the shower and add another 15 to my rest. I don't know how people can complain they don't get enough sleep when they can do those simple easy steps I've outlined above.

This blog is offically going nowhere really quick. So I'm out!

September 18, 2003

Well here's an update on the changes I've made. Yesterday without coffee, I took a 3 hour nap as soon as I came home and had an afternoon nap nightmare (yeah, it's possible to have one of those). I decided that this would be the year I finish my homework ahead of time. Well 2 hours into class I finally handed in my java...but I wasn't up all night last night doing it. I didn't have breakfast today because I was doing my java, so that's 2 straight days without coffee. Umm, I tried going commando for about 5 minutes, then chickened out. I managed NOT to snap at anybody (which is an improvement from nomral Stu who snaps at anybody and everybody). So yes, I guess you could say the new Stu has improved a bit. Now what do I say to that blonde (the young one...old one is for Talon Boy) that I keep looking at? Hmm...maybe she'll be reading this blog and talk to me. Yeah, like that's going to happen.

September 17, 2003

Today I woke up and decided on something. It's time for a change. So I sent off a few messages, and got to school early. I changed my breakfast from greasy cooked/uncooked/never really toasted/toasted wayyyy too much everything bagel and double double coffee (which has ranged from single single to triple triple depending on who made it) to apple juice. So there you go, that's who you shake things up out of the blue. Last night I realized what needed to change and this is a whole new Stu you'll be reading. So far morning one of sweeping changes seem to be going fine. Let's see how the rest of the day goes.

September 16, 2003

As if I actually needed any more reason to know that living in Canada is much better than living in the states. Man do I feel sorry for those Americans. So dumb, so naieve, so limited. Well that's what you get when you don't have gun control I guess.
If I hear one more person complain their job sucks, I'm going to scream. Remember, your job can't be that bad because it didn't make this list. So quit your whining and get back to work because I'm sick and tired of hearing about it.

September 15, 2003

Well, it'e election time in Ontario and that means silly season. Yes I will not talk about yesterday's Lions game. Look 3rd sentance in and that was my first reference to football. Anyways back to politics. Yeah, seems the federal liberals want to hold a vote on gay marriages. Needless to say if this passes, I'm going conservative October 2nd. That's my political viewpoint.

No need to talk about the lions when I can talk politics.

September 13, 2003

Just got back from playing some football...(damn, first sentance again had football in it). Had a good time too, I've really improved my pass catching abilities over last year (and you people said playing video games won't help at all). For some weird and strange reason, I felt faster than I normally do. My legs just weren't getting tired as I ran across the field. The weird thing is I don't work out, so there is no physical reason why I should be moving faster than I normally do.

After the game we went to the local gas station to get some gatorade and talk about the game. So in pulls porn star wannabe brother on his motorcyle (picture of his bike is on my other machine). He parks his bike behind my car, thus boxing me in (urgh) and talks with us for about 20 mins. We are all about to leave when he notices he left his lights on (double urgh). Now I didn't know this about a bike, but if you can get it up to 5km/h then engine will start. So I casually tell my brother...find a hill and roll down it. Anyways, he's trying and trying to get the bike to start, until I point out that he has the kill switch on. Flick the switch, give him a little boost and the bike is off and running.

So that was my day. I'm gonna shower now, because I need one.

September 12, 2003

Ok, here's my quick football tidbit for the day (I know, I'm trying to cut down on the Lions talk, but they are undefeated right now!). Anyways, I don't think they'll win Sunday, but that's just a guess...12 straight losses in Green Bay, I don't think this will be the year they break the streak (that is pathetic) but hey at least they broke the 5 straight losses to the Cardnials streak (yes...that was actually a streak).

Quickly off topic, I'm having BBQ for dinner tonight. Umm...yeah, I don't know what else to post right now...so umm....yeah. Well have a nice day!

September 11, 2003

I'm soo mad right now. After a spirited come from behind 17-14 win over the St. Louis rams to move my record to 9-7, I missed out on the playoffs on a tiebreaker. Yes, I do get emotional over Madden. I'm about to click and go through the super bowl right now. For those interested, it's Bucs vs. Raiders (again).

And the superbowl champion is:

THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS! They won 30-27 in overtime. Man that must have been a good game.

Charles Rogers won rookie of the year. Micheal Vick won MVP. Dennis Erikson was coach of the year (Talon Boy is happy). So now, I'm going to finish the offseason, do a draft then work on getting the lions into the playoffs season 2.
Since when did drinking on a Wednesday night become a good idea? I don't know, but I like it! Kinda like Rock 'n Roll. It's only rock and roll but I like it, yes I do. Yeah, I'm going to stop posting now as class starts in 6 hours. So good night/good morning/hey hey kids!

September 10, 2003

Head coach Steve Mariucci believes the defensive line can become the strength of his stop unit this season, and in reality, it may have to for the Lions to compete.

Excuse me if that doesn't sound familiar, because I heard the exact same thing 2 years ago when Marty (I give the best press conferences) took over. Yeah I know, I'm talking a little too much football lately in this blog, but come on, the Lions are tied for the best record in the NFL! Let me enjoy this week while it lasts because next Monday, I probably won't even mention the team.

Ok, so you guys and gals want to know what else is going on with this blog? Well, I am in class right now. Umm, I brought my digi cam to school. Didn't take any pictures worth posting, but if you chat with me on MSN, you'll get to see them. Umm, what else...I washed my car 2 straight days. Why? Well as you may or may not know, I am one of the laziest people alive. So I figured why spend a whole day washing my car, when I could just as easily spread it across 3 days.

Day #1 was washing the exterior. Simple enough, wash the outside, spray some armor all on the tires to give them that extra special look.

Day #2 was cleaning the interior. Wipe down the surfaces, vacum the inside, scrub out some iced tea stains in the back seat as well as greast stains by the drivers feet.

Day #3 is cleaning the in between parts. This involves areas like when you open the door and you see all that dust and what not. That kind of stuff...maybe I'll clean the windows too. Maybe I'll finally clean out that ash tray of the cigarette powder (the stuff in there is supposed to absorb odurs, except I don't smoke, so it's a whole lot of white powder that's been in there for a year. I could use an extra change compartment seeing as too many people (3 I think) know of my secret loonie hiding spot. Any other spots that need to be cleaned (trunk) and detailing are going to be done. By the end of today, I should have a super clean car.

Oh shit, I just realized that when I saw the gas price at 62 cents a litre, I was actually dreaming last night (no really, I was). Damm, when you get 3 hours into your day and you think that your dreams are a reality, you got some serious problems. That isn't good, I need a job.

September 09, 2003

I didn't update my blog in class today, so I'm doing it from the wireless comfort of my kitchen. I figured out I can be most effective working here because I have a nice view of the outdoors and the food from my chair. Plus I don't have to feel guilty about taking food outside of the kitchen (one thing I rarely do in my house). Why don't I take food out of the kitchen? Because it makes a mess. Keep the food to one area and keep everything clean. That's the way I work. There is nothing more I hate seeing than a bunch of dishes left lying around the house. It's just not right. I also can't stand people eating chips in a hotel room bed (really long story) and in my car. I rarely even drink in my own car because I hate seeing it so much.

September 08, 2003

I almost forgot to update my blog during class today. Since the first week is already over, I'm trying to pay attention in class again. Seems so far I'm up to 50 % internet, 50% teacher. Which is a good ratio for me (probably bad for every other human) but hey, it's a start, if I can get it to 60/40 I think I'll do pretty good (I've passed with 20/80 last semester). Anyways, it's weird to see the buzz about the lions build inside of Detroit. Just give those fans one season opening win and all of a sudden it's a whole new world. Even the writers who normally aren't impressed with turning coal into gold are optimistic. Man that town is such a homer city. Well I'll enjoy it while it lasts after 2 years of doom and gloom. We got the packers next Sunday. This will be the Lions first true test of the season (let's face it, beating the cardnials is like beating up a kid in a wheel chair...you won, but did you really accomplish anything?) If we can beat Green Bay at Lambeau field, I seriously think Detroit will raise a statue in the honor of Steve Marriucci.

September 07, 2003

LIONS WIN! That is all for today. Ok, maybe a picture.

Yeah, that's about enough...my page is looking pretty empty without some images. Hopefully the lions will win again next week so I'll have a new picture for my lovely readers.

September 05, 2003

Yay, I'm a business (fuck it if I can't spell, it's not english) class today. Teacher said you should really buy the textbook, it's $90. Well screw that, I'm going to the cottage to drink with that money this weekend. As such, you won't see an update this weekend from me (pauses for crying). This class really sucks, but the teacher does speak english pretty good, which is a plus. I'm hungry, I feel like an everything bagel toasted with butter and a large double double. Mmmm bagel. See I can eat ethnic foods. My arm is sore...I don't know why.

I slept with the window open last night and the stupid lawn mowers from the golf course behind my house was driving around at 6:15am. Don't they know I need my sleep? Bah, I'm going to wakl out on this class soon. This blog is actually not going anywhere so I should stop it, but I won't. The Jets-Skins game had a good finish last night. Too bad my fantasy players didn't do anything. But on the plus side, they weren't in the lineup. Ever notice how every girl has a look they give you when you say something they don't agree with. And that look just freezes for hours at a time. There are some girls that are still giving me the look for something I said 5 years ago.

Oh damn, I just realized I haven't pushed the post and publish button yet. I would have been upset if I lost my blog. Good thing I didn't and you people are reading it.

September 04, 2003

Back in class. Damm that other class is ugly. If I ever get to the point where I am at least 10 years older than the rest of the people in my class, please shoot me, I don't deserve to live. Old people go to night school. Young kids go to day school. That's how the world works. Yeah, I'm blogging a lot from class now, it beats paying attention to java reviews (which I already know). Funny too how much the class has tailed off since Tuesday. It's not as crowded as it was last time. I'm predicting that by the 23rd, there will be empty spots at the tables. Let's see if it happens.

September 03, 2003

Yay, Stu just got a wireless router for his house! Now I can blog from bed. Welcome me to 2002.
There is a really strange feeling in this class right now. Everybody realizes this this their last semester together. Even though some people claim they will be doing some information security course together, we all know half of them won't be there, and of that half that go into it, only a few will finish. So essentially this is our last semester together as a group. Depressing because we won't know until we are gone and stop talking to each other how great these days actually are. I'm not going to write a sappy blog because I don't do stuff like that. I just know that this is going to be the best semester around.

September 02, 2003

Sorry Rosa about our chat. Stupid network keeps kicking me out of MSN for no reason at all. So for the rest of you that don't know yet, I'm back at Sheridan for 4 more months (pauses for applause). Yes my last semester of CST has arrived. Wait...the teacher is speaking...I got so involved with MSN, Blogger, Family Guy DVD that I forgot I had a teacher in class talking. Bah. So yeah, the network is crap today, lineup at Tim Horton's sucked, and the class is over crowded. So why am I here? I dunno...I guess it's because I can't find a better place I guess. On the plus side it is double cohort year so there is an above normal amount of freshmeat here (heehehe). And by meat I mean the beef variety from cattle farms...I don't know what you people think I meant. Ever since mad cow, beef prices have dropped. Speaking of dropping, out of 35 original people in my first CST class...only 15 remain. Damm, I wish I had the foresight to take a picture of the room that day, there would have been a whole lot of stories to tell with the dropouts and whatnot. Now I'm feeling depressed, although proud that I've fought through 3 years of this stuff (ok, I didn't really fight that hard, but you get the idea, I've survived which is what's important). Enough of the depressing stuff, for those readers of mine in their first College/University class, I say take a picture and store it away for a couple of years, people will think you are weird now, but they'll understand after you graduate.

September 01, 2003

Hmm...I'm a guy that doesn't pretend he knows anything about college football. But yet in Yahoo's recent College Football Pool, I finished 215 of 76528 people! 14 out of 16 picks right! Hehe, I think I might get used to this. Let's see how I do next week. In other news, I'll be opening my own 1-900 pick line for those of you addicted to gambling.
It's labour day. Now lets take a day to honour Joe worker the best way we know how. Let's drink some beer! Of course for me labour day only means school tommrrow (except for last year but that's a different story altogether). Back to labour day itself. I like the concept of workers taking a day off to honour the hard work they've done throughout the whole year. It pains me to see some malls open today so they can make a few extra dollars. It brings me back to my thought on situations like this. If I need something yesterday, and today the stores are not open, I will still need it tommrrow. That's some food for thought next time a company whines about not being open and losing business.

August 31, 2003

I'm not going to do a real update today because I don't have anything important to say. So instead, I'm just going to post a link to a picture (well it's actually 3 stichted together) I took in Niagara Falls last week. Yeah....that's about it. Told you it wasn't going to be a real update, but hey, at least it's a nice picture.

August 30, 2003

People always ask me why I don't eat breakfast too often. Well here's a couple of reasons:

1) I don't like eggs too much...unless it's an omlete covered with lots of cheddar and bacon when I can't really taste the eggs.
2) I like to claim I'm in a rush in the mornings (but if I'm at school, I always get a large double double and a everything bagel toasted with butter)
3) Nobody wants to make me pancakes or waffles...ever.
4) This morning, I was getting ready to eat mini wheats, let them soak for the normal 3 minutes I do, take my first spoonful, and the milk is sour. Now I have to wait an extra hour for lunch, although the omlete idea from above sounds good right now.

Honeymoon in Vegas is on TBS right now. It's not a great movie, but I always watch it whenever it's on the TV.

August 29, 2003

Coop is over. Just one thing the boss said to me during the performance review: I say too many wisecracks. For those readers of my site that actually have to listen to my voice...is it true?
One more hour of coop. Can I make it? Well I've had this expense report on my desk waiting for the managers approval for at least 4 hours. That is all I really did today. But hey, the other coop didn't even bother to show up to work today, so I guess I'm ahead of him in that regard. My new laptop seems to be working fine so far. Now I want a wireless router. Who is willing to by one for Stu (I tried expensing it and it didn't work).
Just got back from a drive around, when I stumble upon this article about obesity and urban sprawl. The sad part is, somebody paid for this when they could have easily read my blog from August 7 where I say the exact same thing. I can't believe somebody paid for this study. On a side note, does anybody know how to link my code so that I can scroll to a particular day's post, not just the archive for the month?

August 28, 2003

Nice to see London go without power for a bit. Why can't these things happen to the French. That way we can't hear them whine.
Tommrow I'm going back to the office one last time for my last day of coop. Normally this would be a cause for celebration, but honestly, I think I'm going to miss that place. Maybe it's the fact that I've actually expensed the company for more money than they paid me with. Maybe it's all the places I got to go and people I got to meet. Maybe it's the fact that I liked the job that I'll miss most. So unless my boss plans to ask me to work part time for christmas rush (I highly doubt it, because he would have made mention already) or they want to rehire me after I graduate in 4 months, I won't be visiting the office as an employee again.

So I think I could best tribute the coop term by some factoids:

Number of time zones visited: 3
Number of time zones I've talked on the phone with: 5
Number of stores visited: 25 -- I think (this is off the top of my head)
Most obscure factoid possible: I can claim to have gone to the bathroom in every Toys R Us store in B.C. and Alberta.
Favorite meal on company money: that's a tough one...the chicken sandwhich with JD's sauce from Cactus Club in Vancouver is up there with the strawberry waffles I had in Lethbridge.
Worst meal on company money: omelete I had from perkins in St. Catherines and the meals I had at the Vancouver Denny's.
Favorite Restaurant: Earls.
Least Favorite: Tie between Denny's and Perkins.
Favorite Hotel: Best Western in Kelowna (it's a shame to hear about the forest fires they are having now).
Least Favorite Hotel: That place I stayed in Kamloops. I forget the name, but it's right across the road from the white spot.
Funniest memory: The druken hotel fire alarm, by far.
Biggest dissapointment: Vancouver nightlife on Canada Day. City shut down at 11.
Best looking people: Victoria BC.
Ugliest people: Don Mills.
Craziest people (in the mental house way): Mississauga -- I had some asian lady scream as she counted to 20 (not ten) and some insane lady yell hi to me both on the same day.
Most Headaches in a store: Brampton (funny it's my hometown store too).
Least Headaches in a store: Downtown Toronto.
Most organized store: One of the Edmonton ones...south side of the city, I forget the location.
Least organized store: hmm, tough one, I don't know....Nanaimo is worth mention here maybe because they couldn't find a kit we sent them via courier.
Best office moment: Garage sale where I met Hank Scorpio.
Best office moment I wasn't there for: $100 PS2 sale. But hey, at least I got one for myself!
Worst office moment: Realizing I had to redo 50 keyboards because they weren't french.
If I had to take one memory it would be: Being in Whistler the day they found out they got the Olympics.
Best Beer: Albino Rhino.
Worst beer: You know what...I didn't have any bad beers this summer, but I guess finding out they didn't have schooners in Kelowna would be it.

So there is my coop term report. I wish I could submit it, but the office doesn't except blogs. Damm shame too, it's so much better than the crap I actually gave them.

August 27, 2003

Weird, I came home relatively early today. I guess working after working a 14 hour day, 10 feels short (8 is just a dream). But hey, at least I rememberd to blog, which is an improvement over previous days. Hamilton was ok today, Kitchener was good until I saw the traffic. Text messaging and driving is not recommended, but if you can type them without taking your eyes off the road, you got mad skillz. I fall into that category.
So I have been slacking off with the posts, but I haven't been home in a couple of days. Monday I managed to visit 4 stores AND go racing. Tuesday my plan was to do Oakville, then Hamilton (about a 20 minute drive) and finish it off with Kitchener (a 45 minute drive from the previous city). Well I get to Oakville start working on the PC's when the boss calls me and tells me it's more important that I go to Whitby (a full hour and 15 minutes across the city) then Don Mills. BAH! I logged in 250 km's of driving today and did 3 stores. Tommrow I do Hamilton and Kitchener (I don't know which one first...probably Kitchener) and Thorhill and Markham on Thursday. So don't expect blogs from me as I'll be away from the computer for a while. But hey, at least I'm working (14 hours today for those keeping score at home).

DAMM, I woke up this morning, made a pot of coffee, pour my milk in, when I see these floating things. DOH, bad milk! So I'm going to have to buy my coffee this morning (I went to sleep late last night). On the plus side I'm not going to the office, I'm going to stores so I get to expense my coffee, but I don't think I should charge it to the company as I could have had black coffee at home.

There ya go, I got in a post on the day I said I would. Yay for me, I did something right. Looks like I'll be out of office for the next 4 days (which is good) as I'll be working on upgrading PC's (which is also good). But I won't blog (which is bad) or be on MSN (which is also bad) but I'll be getting mileage paid for (which is good) and free meals (which is also good). Anyways that's the end of my post. All done for today. I'll be back tommrow.
I slipped up. That stupid blaster worm took up my work day (only put in an hour of overtime today...maybe more tommrow) and I killed my streak of consecutive weekday posts (I pride myself on updating my blog daily even if it's meaningless). So hopefully I'll have a real update tommrow...err later today. Well you get what I'm trying to say. I get to do Gran Turismo: GTA on Friday. Which essentially means I'll be hitting up a bunch of stores instead of being in the office (I like to drive around location to location and do work...maybe I should do that full time?) Haha, I just realized how many sony games I ripped the title off on my Gran Turismo: GTA thing. Ok, I should get some sleep now. I'm going to try to change my shout outs and tag board this weekend as both of them are down at the moment. I've had it with both pieces of software (espically the shout outs).

OMG, I almost missed my first weekday update in 2 months. I'm writing this one with 10 minutes to spare! I wouldn't want my loyal readers to think something happend to me. I worked 12 hours today fixing a problem that kinda wormed it's way on us. Yeah I know, it sucks, but I'm not complaining about the extra money. Looks like I'm staying with these guys for the balance of my term and not getting off a week early. Ahh well, for the better I guess, I'll take it easy when I get back to school (I always have a habit of doing that...although this semester is going to be different, I'm going to finish my homework on time....how many times have I said that?)

Alright I'm babbling. Just had a slice of pie from the big apple. Anybody who's made the Toronto-Montreal voyage knows what it looks like, now you gotta try the pie! Time for me to say goodnight for today, I'll be back tommrow though with a better update than today (or at least that's my goal).

August 18, 2003

Well work was fun today. For security reasons I'm not going to say that a worm hit us, but I spent all afternoon patching comptuers. Really fun isn't it? Hopefully only one week left of this stuff. Damm it's hard to blog when my mother is nagging me. I need to get around to installing office xp. Where did I put my cd?

August 17, 2003

Funny thing happend to me today. Went over to Garry's house to watch the Lions preseason game (repeat from yesterday....no no no, the score isn't important. You know what, let's forget I even mentioned it). Anyways, first I stopped over at my local beer store to pick up some Alexander Kieth's IPA for the game (at the request of the host). Well guess what, they don't have any six packs. WHAT KIND OF BEER STORE IS THIS? So I settle for Rickards Honey Brown (not a bad comprimise I guess). Get to Garry's house, watch the end of the first half and a bit of the second. 3pm rolls around and I go home get my team ready for my NFL Fantasy League. Guess what happens to me? I get locked out! Doh, that's the last time I leave without taking my keys. So anyways, I get to the draft, with only 3 hours of preperation underneath me, I think I managed to pull of a descent draft. My wide recievers aren't the best (just like last year) but I think I got some great depth at QB (always a plus) and RB (doesn't hurt either). So let's hope I do better than last years 4th place finish.

Man, I just found out one of the guys I went to high school with passed away. Man it sucks when somebody your age that you went to school with is no longer here. It kind of puts everything into persepctive. Suddenly that power outage that gave me Friday off work isn't so important anymore. Of course about that black out, I'd like to point a couple things to my American neighbours.

1) It was your fault.

2) It was not Ontario's fault.

3) It was your fault.

That is all. The mayor of New York City (who's name isn't really important because he doesn't have his facts straight, so I'll call him Jim) is an idiot. The Prime Minister of Canada is a bigger idiot (he can't even say something right, let alone be on TV). But the biggest idiot of the event award goes to all those idiots who tried to go to work on Friday. Why bother? Is work really that important to you. Granted if you are a police office, fireman (you guys never get enough respect) or hospital worker (one that actually does work, not one of those nurses that chat all day in the nurses office) then I got nothing against you. It's those other ones that don't want to take days off when it snows. The ones that believe we lose too much money by adding an extra holiday (yeah, because you know, if I need milk today and the store is closed, I'll never need it again). The boss that kept his workers outside the plant, not letting them leave after the power outage (there is a world outside work). I could keep going on with this rant, but the fact of the matter is, the Lions game is about to start.
