Good news sports fans! Seems like I'm going to another Bills game. What happend was one of the people who were supposed to go to the game had to cancel at the last minute, so guess who gets to come off the bench and fill in? Good ole' Stu, that's who! Hmm, odd, I'm a Lions fan, but this will be my second Bills game this year. That maens I'll be going to 25% of their games. I should have bought season tickets if I wanted to see them that much. As for the game, it's a Bills - Dolphins game so I'm torn as to who I should cheer for. I'll go for the home team, because they are the ones I hate less. My seats are roughly the same as last time, except row 9 instead of row 16.

Now, where did I put that second pair of pants?

Just want to point out that my good friend from my days at MPS Dark Pheonix has opened his own blogger. Check it out, it's got a nice design to it.
I was reading through Lions history on thanksgiving day when I stumbled on a factoid. The last thanksgiving day game to go into overtime was 1998. What was so famous about that game? It was the infamous Phil Luckett coin flip. Good ole' Phil (one of the worst referees to ever call a football game) tells Pittsburgh's Jerome Bettis to call it in the air. He flips the coin...

Bettis: hea...TAILS
Luckett: Heads is called. (picks up coin) It's Tails, Lions win the toss.
Bettis: But I called Tails
Luckett: Detroit do you wish to kick or recieve?

Of course Detroit goes on to score a field goal and win the game. The Steelers never got a chance to touch the ball. They changed the coin flip rule after this game. Now the team calls it before the coin is flipped. All because of Phil Luckett.

We are about 15 hours away from opening kickoff so I'll share some memories about Thanksgiving Day Football I have.

1993. I walk from school to my fathers shop and what do I see? A football game in snow. Back then I wasn't a football fan, so I didn't think much of it. Wasn't until I got home and my brother showed me the replay that it sunk in. It normally doesn't snow in Dallas does it? Nope it doesn't, and espically not on thanksgiving. Well let's relive the memory from that game.

4th and 7. Dolphins set up for a fieldgoal in the snow. Snap....kicker slips but gets the kick off...AND IT'S BLOCKED. DALLAS WINS! But wait....1 Dallas player thinks the ball is live so he tries to slide on it. Of course with snow everywhere, he slides and loses the ball meaning the kicking team can recover the ball. That cowboy who thought he'd be a hero was none other than Leon Lett, the crackhead himself (also famous for running back a ball 99yds, only to hold it out and get stripped at the 1 yard line -- IN THE SUPERBOWL). Miami recovers and kicks the field goal to win the game. The crowd is in shock.

1998 -- A tradition begins. For family studies we need to visit a facility that deals with the family and write up a report on it. I timed it perfectly so that the morning I'd spend a day at a seniors home and the afternoon I'd be free to watch football. My plan worked to a T. Out of the old folks home by 11. And ready to watch the big game.

1999 -- A new element is added. My parents go on vacation to Cuba. Could skipping school be any easier? Don't even bother giving the office the standard phone call. With my brother being the only other person home and 2 males not knowing how to cook at all and this being turkey day, what are we to do? Well buy a turkey and cook it. Neither of us wanted the hassle. So we got the next best thing to a turkey for thanksgiving: Swiss Chalet! Hey it worked.

2000 -- The tradition continues. Nothing memorable happend this game, other than a Lions Victory. I didn't need an excuse to cut classes because I was in university, and I didn't have any classes scheduled on Thursday afternoons.

2001 -- Tradition goes on vacation. This was supposed to be the begining of a new tradition. Actually seeing these games live. The road trip was great. GianCarlo, Newfy Boy, Balding Brother and Stu all went down to Pontiac to watch the big game. Left Wednesday night. Came back Friday evening. I think I missed 2 classes total, one of them we installed Linux..but a better description is 90% of the class TRIED to install linux. I'll explain the story more tommrow (if I feel like it) but there were some funny things going on. Thursday felt weird without Swiss Chalet.

2002 -- Back where it all began. A rumor swirled around the house Sunday night that I would try to wake up early Monday morning and buy the latest released tickets for the game (which went on sale at 10am). This rumor was squashed when the earliest I could get up was 1pm. Well, Swiss Chalet at halftime is already ordered, beer is in the fridge, and I'm ready for some Lions football!

So there is a quick recap of thanksgiving and football in my life these past 5 years. It's a tradition that I like and will continue for a long time. Next year I'll be at the game though, becuase oddly enough, I got school in November =) Once I start working full time, I'll have to schedule that day off for myself, but that's a long time away.
Who thinks they can build a better nation than Stu? I'd like to see that. It only takes 5 mins a day to do.
Boost Monkey was always mentioning that he is hungry all the time. Well do I got the pefect meal for him.
My cough is horrible in the mornings, but seems to die out during the day and creep back up on me at night. Looks like I'll have to visit the doctor if this keeps up. Got some extra strength cough medicine I bought yesterday. I'm going to take some and hope it knocks me out. I only got 7 hours of sleep last night. If I don't get at least 8 I'll turn into an ugly troll (see Uzo).

1 more day until the big thanksgiving day game!

November 26, 2002

Woohoo, finnaly some good news comes my way. I get a voicemail message around 1pm today (because I don't even bother answering my cell before 2, nothing good will ever come of it) saying that my phone is repaired and I can send back that brick they called a phone. Yay, now I don't have to be embarassed to talk in public anymore. It's going to take a few days to get used to carrying a phone around again. But any way you look at it, I'm not complaining at all!

Add to that the annual Lions thanksgiving day football game is on Thursday and thing are looking up for me. Of course my jaw almost dropped when Boost Monkey asked me if the game is a big deal for Detroit fans. Well, here's some info on the history of the game.

How about some highlights from the last time New England played Detroit on thanksgiving day. Of course, how could I mention thanksgiving and not give you guys a Barry Sanders link? *update* Bah those links don't point to the right page. You'll have to click on the links from the archives yourself.
Blah, well its tuesday again, morning boring classes/usless lectures, sometimes i wonder why in hells name did i ever wake up and even go ? oh thats right cuz my parents literally drag me to the bus stop and ive got no where to go but school :( how said is that :-P anywayz to amuse myself for about lest say 12 hours ! :-P im going to be posting one LONG ass post well fuck it, i dont want to write that long :-P anywayz Preacher's topic for today is......... "What a Moron" comment by the communications director for hte office of the prime minister.

Anywayz to start of we will look first at ... ahh fuck it too early to think :-P i will post later or die either way its preferable

November 25, 2002

Hmm, where did I put my microwave?
My throat hasn't got better yet. I'm losing an hour of sleep a night due to this annoying cough which insists on waking me up all the time. Double whammy is I have a dry throat so I have to go downstairs and get something to drink. This really sucks. Although since I don't have to wake up early for anything, I can just listen to 5am radio. Not that I remember anything I've heard on it, but hey, it's company when you can't fall asleep and if these guys were good, they'd be on during the day when people are actually listening. I'm off to buy some cough syurp and maybe make a flaming moe.

November 23, 2002

Ouch, my chest hurts. Working out my abs + some sort of throat problem = major pain to cough. But I've been a trooper through this all. Played football today in mud and for the most part, was running like normal. The problem was once I stopped running, it took a little longer than normal to get my breath back because breathing deep isn't the easiest thing in the world to do when your throat is sore. Some people have heard me talk, and can testify just how bad my voice is. Oddly, nobody is complaining about not having to listen to me.

November 21, 2002

Well another day, still no job. I tried applying to places, but they want people who are willing to work...not just willing to get paid every other week. Well I tried. Anybody got any job openings for good ole' Stu? Thought not...ahh well, back to other endevaours.
If you get more than two questons wrong on that test, you definetly are American.
Just finished watching Big Trouble. That's a great movie. Second time seeing it for me. I would have gone twice seeing the movie without knowing that Johnny Knoxville was in it if my brother didn't point it out to me. But any way you look at it, that movie had a stacked cast.

November 20, 2002

Some people worry about the American's taking over the world. I don't think so. For one, they can't even find the damm place. But I don't have to worry about that. Nobody can find Stu to begin with. You need evidence, just look up on who owns battlefield 1942. ME! You don't believe me? Just check out the scores I'm pulling off. You'll have to scroll down a bit to find the pic...it's at the bottom. Nothing else I have to other than I applied to futureshop for seasonal help. I doubt I'll hear anything from them, but it's worth a shot.

November 19, 2002

Nice to see that the Preacher has decided to post here again, I was getting bored posting by myself. Anyways, my gripe for the day is why can't the rest of my pants be like my new dockers? These pants are amazying. First, they repell water. So if you get splashed with something (or run it under the tap) it falls right off, and the pants stay dry. Secondly, the pockets go down to my knees so I can fit a ton of crap in there (my loaner qualcomm phone that's the size of a brick, and my brothers old nokia both fit in there fine with room for a hockey puck). Lastly, my ass doesn't look big in them (I can't really have 2 points can I? I need the third). Well, that's the best $50 I've spent on pants ever.
Well well well, its been a millenium since i have returned ! and now you shall all phear the power of the stu. Yes i am now attesting to the Leetness of Stu's Bf1942 skills ! :-P phear him in a tank, phear him with a scope and phear him for his farts ! they are all deadly. Anywayz my gripe for today is, why do noobs try to argue with you when u blatantly tell them that they have just beached the battleship, the MOST important ship in the map of midway ! fear not dear citizens for i will return....

November 18, 2002

Why is yahoo so slow lately? I try to check up on my fantasy football team and it takes me hours to navigate their pages. Pisses me off in fact. Ahh well, I've given up on weekend updates because I'm too lazy to do them. It's monday, so to all you working sapps I give you a big HAHA! Get back to work you stupid working people. I give you a line from A Bronx Tale:

A working man is a sucker.

That is all.

November 14, 2002

Went to the dentist today...damm those hygensits look nice, makes me reconsider my career choice. They asked me how much pop I drink in a week, I told them 3-4 cans (about right), hygenist told me that's too much, I shouldn't drink more than once a week. I look at her funny and think to myself "does that mean I should drink beer more often?"

November 13, 2002

Had some spare time, so I decided to redesign my webpage. Thanks go out to Boost "Bumbanger" Monkey for helping me out.
879 Files with adult content on my computer!!!!! How many adult files do you have on your computer?
It seems like when I beat the crap out of BoostMonkey last monday night on the track, I also beat the backbone out of him too.
I fixed my archives now, so all of you readers and imitators of my website out there, the secret was you have to re-create your template because something is wrong with it (I've got no fucking clue what it is). I've also changed the update frequency to monthly so there are less links to click through (although longer pages). Either way, enjoy the page!
Some images are priceless you just have to post them. Like take for example BattleField 1942. I was playing with the Preacher and we were both snipers. Now what you must know is Preacher hasn't yet learned the skill of aiming for the head and getting a one shot kill with the sniper rifle. So he gets angry whenever I kill him quick. What you must understand abou this picture is that after the first kill, Preacher goes out of his way to curse me. I respond with another kill of course :) But it's all in good fun. I know to stay out of the way of Preacher's tanks because I always end up flying away from them.

November 12, 2002

Today is another day wasted. Such is the life of an unemployed jackass like myself. But I see definite advantages to being unemployed. First off, I have no stress. Stress along with inactive lifestyle and poor eating habits are the main causes of heart problems among people. My weight is exactly the same as when I stopped working, so it's not like I'm getting fat. In all I guess you can say I'm doing better than most working stiffs who can barely pay their car bills because they need it to get to work. You see, things aren't that bad after all!
Hahah, how many guys can get a girl on IRC to do this for them?

Ok so here's how it goes. The following people will from here on in be known as the (wo)men that ruined Monday Night Racing on November 11, 2002.

BoostMonkey
The Professor
Sw0rdFish
Uzo
Ultra Caker

Has anybody heard from DarkPheonix lately? I haven't.

As for next Monday night, I'm listed as out due to the fact that it's my father's birthday. I'll be back for the thanksgiving day memorial on November 25.

And while I'm ranting on the above mentioned people who have ruined Monday night racing, I think it's necessary to mention that Sw0rdFish is updating his page regularly. So stop on by and read up a bit. You'll enjoy it.

November 11, 2002

Happy birthday to both Stugautz and the Proffessor. Their Girlfriend/Boyfriend wanted me to give them this present. :)
Due to a severe lack of interest, tonight's SRL race @ Formula Kartways is cancelled. Since the only confirmed participants for tonights race were me and Talon, the newly revised power rankings will reflect this. Needless to say, since nobody beat me last week at prokart, and nobody wants to bother trying to beat me this week (various excuses ranging from no money to back problems to its my birthday) I am still #1 and I'll probably stay at that position for a long time to come. In fact, I am the greatest.

November 09, 2002

Rumor has it my birthday is tommrow, I think I just may have found the perfect gift for me.
It's offical, if you want to get the weirdest look in the world from a waitress you must ask if your olives are sexy. We were at Boston Pizza last night, and Boost Monkey mentioned that the tomatoes that fell off his bruschetta were looking good. Then I said the olives looked sexy. So what does Boost Monkey do when the waitress comes by? He asks her if his olives are sexy. And we get what is the most priceless look I've ever seen from a waitress. And we never saw that waitress again. True Story.

November 05, 2002

It's been more than 12 hours since I solidified myself as the best racer in the SRL. I know you all want to know the details about my heroic drive to the top. Overcomming a bad knee that gave me problems even walking to the car, I showed up a prokart yesterday expecting to race Sw0rdFish and Boost Monkey. When I got there, I found out there was no arrive and drive, but only a 20 person race involving people who knew the track. I thought to myself that I was in serious trouble.

First there was a 10 lap practice session where I learned the track. I was horrible. I was worse than horrible. I was like Boost Monkey out for a Sunday drive in a foot of snow, with rear wheel drive. The one good thing about that session was it wasn't timed so I didn't embrass myself too much. Next was qualifying. What a difference a car makes. My qualification car was still loose, but this one actually turned on the corners. I qualified in 16th position. There was a 5 car limit on the track, so with the 20 drivers, there will be 4 races with 5 drivers each. My 16th place finish left me the pole positition for the slowest drivers. Boost Monkey was 17th, 1 spot behind me, while Sw0rdFish caught 12th place.

So we line up for the quater-final race and guess who runs away with victory? Not only did I win, I posted the 3rd fastest time of the 4 races which means I'll be in with the fastest drivers for the semi finals. In those semi's, I continued my hot run to finish 3rd place and leave myself 3 points back of the leader. To make it simple for you people, if I win the grand final, I get myself a podium finish.

So the final comes, Boost Monkey lets me wear the red helmet that he wears. Hoping that will help me, I jump on the track and I do my very best Sw0rdFish impression: choke under the pressure of a race. I was clearly faster than the 4th place driver, but I couldn't pass him. I try to take an inside line on him into the last hairpin, and I get one of my wheels caught on the tire wall as I spin out. Damm, 5th place, no chance of me getting on that podium. Well, at least I proved I was the best SRL driver out there with a 18.25 second lap and another SRL record. So that makes me the fastest driver on 2 different circuits.

No much need for a new power rankings, but I'll post them later anyway.
Before I go to bed, I think it's necessary for my morning readers to know who won todays race. ME. Yes, I BEAT Sw0rdFish AND Boost Monkey. Not only did I school them in the art of ass kicking on a track, I also won 1 of my heats cleanly, and posted the 6th fastest time of the day against people who have been on the track before. So in closing, let me remind you all, that I WON and when the track is new, and the driver's skill is put to the test, I am much much much much much much much much much much better than both Sw0rdFish and Boost Monkey. (did I forget to mention that I won the race?)

November 04, 2002

Tonight is race night. Prokart 8pm, no need for a preview because all I know about the track is I'll win and the laps will be shorter.

November 03, 2002

This is why we shouldn't have women drivers. Or the professor driving for that matter.
Good news people, my knee is feeling much better this morning. Last night I had troubles walking around the house it hurt so bad, but a good nights sleep and some dominoe's pizza really go a long way. So beware tommrow night at 8pm, I'll be close to 90% healthy for the race.

November 02, 2002

Ouch, my knee hurts. Had a small knee on knee collision while playing football today and it hurts. Good news is, it's just a bruise and it'll heal fine by Wednesday (that's my undeducated opinion by the way). Right now it hurts to fully bend it, but I'll get by. Even on one knee, I'll probably still dominate Monday's edition of the SRL tour when we visit ProKart for our first neutral site race.
I think I found out where Portugal learned to play soccer. But then again, I don't think Portugal could win a match like that even if the opposition kept scoring on themseleves.

November 01, 2002

Yesterday was the last day to get a co-op job, although that deadline has been extended for a week or so since there are a lot of us students not placed. I've got no clue what the actual number is to be honest with you, but to be on the safe side, take the number the co-op office gives out, and add 20 students and there ya go. So where does that leave me? In between I guess. No job yet, but at the same time, not deferring a co-op work term. There is supposed to be a posting up later today, but who knows when it'll actually come up. Either way, say a prayer for Stu tonight and let's all hope he gets a job. The people I interviewed with on Wednesday said they'll get back to me late next week. Hmm, my birthday is on the 10th and that would make a good gift :)
