AstroPlay is the next generation of astroturf (fake grass for you non sports types). It's designed to look like real grass and have a better feel than regular astro turf (which normally amounts to playing on carpet placed atop concrete. Of the new generation of artifical surfaces was brought on by competition from NeXturf and FieldTurf.
Having never played on any of the surfaces before I can't say which one is better, although FieldTurf does have a base of shredded firestone tires and when players make a cut on it lots of dirt kicks up.

Is this the team Canada of a few years ago that were slower than the Europeans. What happend to the highly skilled Sweedes? I'll tell you what happend, Canada is back to dominate hockey once again, not just be the best.
Head on over to Sw0rdFish's site to read why I don't go boxing day shopping. DP redesigned his webpage and it looks nice. Stay with the new look DP! As for a new site design for Stu's life? I'm not against one of my readers submitting a template for my approval. As long as you stick with the blue/silver colour scheme I won't complain too much.

In a nation states update after placing 10th in the Condomless Brothel region on the latest IQ test, I raked #1 for the fastest growing economy. Woohoo, prosperity is on the way. Not to mention my country ranked 168th out of 7951 nation in the world. So to go with my greatly improving economy, disappearing political freedoms and non existent civil rights, I have decided to build up an army. For you see, I intend to be the richest nation with the biggest army and the dumbest people.

First off are some cheerleaders for you guys (becuase I know you guys like'em).
Here is (from left to right) My neighbour, Me and My brother before the game. Notice the tall cans of heiniken with us. That's the last time you'll see me drink them, because they taste like crap. But hey, it worked better than coffee at warming us up.
This is the 4 of us (can you guess which one isn't Italian?) inside the stadium.
This is one of our drunker moments.

Site Temporarily Down
Thanks for visiting Jennifer Government: NationStates, the nation simulation game. Unfortunately, we are temporarily off the air.
NationStates has been far more popular than I anticipated, and my web host's server struggled under the load of thousands of new players. They've just pulled the plug on my account, so NationStates will be down until I can finish moving the game to its new home. This will take about 24-48 hours, depending on how many things go wrong. I am sorry for the inconvenience; I know many of you have new addictions to feed.
In the meantime, the Forums are still open. People new to NationStates might want to browse the FAQ. And no matter who you are, I can recommend
Hopefully that's good news meaning I'll finnaly be able to play this game by Friday. I've been dying to run my own country for a while as it'll be a capitalist paradise which is the only real way to go if you are building a country.

Of course in order for the game to suck, it has to come out first. And that's not going to happen for a long long time.
I've had my paintball fix for at least a month I guess. Maybe 2. I'm not dying to go back, but if somebody invites me, I'll be the first to sign up.

Pay to the order of Daniel Sacchetti: $225.00
Woohoo, money for doing nothing! Well I am definetly getting myself a PS2 or Xbox now. I'm still sitting on the fence as to which console to get. Today I'm leaning towards the Xbox, but yesterday I was in a PS2 mode. If I can get an Xbox for $200 I'm definetly getting it. Otherwise, I may go with the PS2.

4: NFL Stadiums I've been to
1: Number of people that don't eat pork on the last road trip
1: Person that doesn't eat pork, but has bacon ham and sausage on his cresandwhich.
6: Greek people I met in the parkinglot (all from Barrie)
Line of the weekend:
Burger King Drivethrough: Do you want ham bacon or sausage?
Roy: All of the above.
Funniest thing I've ever heard at 9:45am.
Dumbest Question:
Border Gaurd: What do you do for a living?
What the fuck does it matter?
2nd Dumbest Question:
Me: Can I have 3 double doubles?
Concession Stand Girl: What's a double double?
Lasting Image:
Snow so bad I could barely see Ralph Wilson stadium from the parking lot.
Most Sickening Image:
Going to the piss trough at the Ralph (they haven't heard about the urinal yet) then trying to wash my hands in the sink, only to find out that the water travels both ways in the sink...wait a second, that guys pissing in the sink.
Random Quote From a fan:
You can't hold your ass still for 5 seconds? (referring to the false start penalty against the bills).
Something I never thought I'd hear:
80,000 people singing let it snow together.
Total Money spent:
About $100 cdn and $50 USD.

Number of drinks I didn't pay for: 1
Number of Sheridan CST students at Daily Planet: 2
Campuses Represented: 2
Students part of the CST crew at Daily Planet: 1
That's it for now.
And one other thing, the next person that says Toronto should build an open air stadium to play football in, has obviously never been to Buffalo. The game ended at 4 and I still can't feel my toes. And a 3 hour drive to get out of that city to the border (by comparision, it took us 30 mins to get to the stadium from the border) was not the best thing in the world either...except that I caught up on some sleep in the car, so I'm not going to complain.
Oh yeah, next time you go to the falls, check out Daily Planet, it's a better club than Rumors.

Bettis: hea...TAILS
Luckett: Heads is called. (picks up coin) It's Tails, Lions win the toss.
Bettis: But I called Tails
Luckett: Detroit do you wish to kick or recieve?
Of course Detroit goes on to score a field goal and win the game. The Steelers never got a chance to touch the ball. They changed the coin flip rule after this game. Now the team calls it before the coin is flipped. All because of Phil Luckett.
November 27, 2002
1993. I walk from school to my fathers shop and what do I see? A football game in snow. Back then I wasn't a football fan, so I didn't think much of it. Wasn't until I got home and my brother showed me the replay that it sunk in. It normally doesn't snow in Dallas does it? Nope it doesn't, and espically not on thanksgiving. Well let's relive the memory from that game.
4th and 7. Dolphins set up for a fieldgoal in the snow. Snap....kicker slips but gets the kick off...AND IT'S BLOCKED. DALLAS WINS! But wait....1 Dallas player thinks the ball is live so he tries to slide on it. Of course with snow everywhere, he slides and loses the ball meaning the kicking team can recover the ball. That cowboy who thought he'd be a hero was none other than Leon Lett, the crackhead himself (also famous for running back a ball 99yds, only to hold it out and get stripped at the 1 yard line -- IN THE SUPERBOWL). Miami recovers and kicks the field goal to win the game. The crowd is in shock.
1998 -- A tradition begins. For family studies we need to visit a facility that deals with the family and write up a report on it. I timed it perfectly so that the morning I'd spend a day at a seniors home and the afternoon I'd be free to watch football. My plan worked to a T. Out of the old folks home by 11. And ready to watch the big game.
1999 -- A new element is added. My parents go on vacation to Cuba. Could skipping school be any easier? Don't even bother giving the office the standard phone call. With my brother being the only other person home and 2 males not knowing how to cook at all and this being turkey day, what are we to do? Well buy a turkey and cook it. Neither of us wanted the hassle. So we got the next best thing to a turkey for thanksgiving: Swiss Chalet! Hey it worked.
2000 -- The tradition continues. Nothing memorable happend this game, other than a Lions Victory. I didn't need an excuse to cut classes because I was in university, and I didn't have any classes scheduled on Thursday afternoons.
2001 -- Tradition goes on vacation. This was supposed to be the begining of a new tradition. Actually seeing these games live. The road trip was great. GianCarlo, Newfy Boy, Balding Brother and Stu all went down to Pontiac to watch the big game. Left Wednesday night. Came back Friday evening. I think I missed 2 classes total, one of them we installed Linux..but a better description is 90% of the class TRIED to install linux. I'll explain the story more tommrow (if I feel like it) but there were some funny things going on. Thursday felt weird without Swiss Chalet.
2002 -- Back where it all began. A rumor swirled around the house Sunday night that I would try to wake up early Monday morning and buy the latest released tickets for the game (which went on sale at 10am). This rumor was squashed when the earliest I could get up was 1pm. Well, Swiss Chalet at halftime is already ordered, beer is in the fridge, and I'm ready for some Lions football!
So there is a quick recap of thanksgiving and football in my life these past 5 years. It's a tradition that I like and will continue for a long time. Next year I'll be at the game though, becuase oddly enough, I got school in November =) Once I start working full time, I'll have to schedule that day off for myself, but that's a long time away.
1 more day until the big thanksgiving day game!
November 26, 2002
Woohoo, finnaly some good news comes my way. I get a voicemail message around 1pm today (because I don't even bother answering my cell before 2, nothing good will ever come of it) saying that my phone is repaired and I can send back that brick they called a phone. Yay, now I don't have to be embarassed to talk in public anymore. It's going to take a few days to get used to carrying a phone around again. But any way you look at it, I'm not complaining at all!
Add to that the annual Lions thanksgiving day football game is on Thursday and thing are looking up for me. Of course my jaw almost dropped when Boost Monkey asked me if the game is a big deal for Detroit fans. Well, here's some info on the history of the game.
How about some highlights from the last time New England played Detroit on thanksgiving day. Of course, how could I mention thanksgiving and not give you guys a Barry Sanders link? *update* Bah those links don't point to the right page. You'll have to click on the links from the archives yourself.
Anywayz to start of we will look first at ... ahh fuck it too early to think :-P i will post later or die either way its preferable

First there was a 10 lap practice session where I learned the track. I was horrible. I was worse than horrible. I was like Boost Monkey out for a Sunday drive in a foot of snow, with rear wheel drive. The one good thing about that session was it wasn't timed so I didn't embrass myself too much. Next was qualifying. What a difference a car makes. My qualification car was still loose, but this one actually turned on the corners. I qualified in 16th position. There was a 5 car limit on the track, so with the 20 drivers, there will be 4 races with 5 drivers each. My 16th place finish left me the pole positition for the slowest drivers. Boost Monkey was 17th, 1 spot behind me, while Sw0rdFish caught 12th place.
So we line up for the quater-final race and guess who runs away with victory? Not only did I win, I posted the 3rd fastest time of the 4 races which means I'll be in with the fastest drivers for the semi finals. In those semi's, I continued my hot run to finish 3rd place and leave myself 3 points back of the leader. To make it simple for you people, if I win the grand final, I get myself a podium finish.
So the final comes, Boost Monkey lets me wear the red helmet that he wears. Hoping that will help me, I jump on the track and I do my very best Sw0rdFish impression: choke under the pressure of a race. I was clearly faster than the 4th place driver, but I couldn't pass him. I try to take an inside line on him into the last hairpin, and I get one of my wheels caught on the tire wall as I spin out. Damm, 5th place, no chance of me getting on that podium. Well, at least I proved I was the best SRL driver out there with a 18.25 second lap and another SRL record. So that makes me the fastest driver on 2 different circuits.
No much need for a new power rankings, but I'll post them later anyway.

Personally I think he was just acting to see how much knowledge I really had but who knows. He asked me what kind of games first person shooters are, and I was puzzled there for a second. I thought, is this guy for real? Then we get to talking about how I've had a lot of linux experience, and he asks me what Apache is. I explain it to him that it's a web server (actually the most popular webserver out there). I also mentioned that I patched servers for SCIM whenever a patch was availabe.
He asked me how I did that? I told him rpm -i or gzip -d tar -xvf and boom server was patched. I won't hold that over his head, because he told me when SAP sends him a patch, they have to to write it into the source themseleves and recompile. Hmm, that sounds like a better way of patching things.
One cool thing about the job is that I'll be invocing the company for work done. Woohoo, he said I'll be able to write a lot of things off as tax expenses. And you guys thought I was done upgrading. Well, I guess of the 5 interviews I've had so far, this one I've done the least wrong, showed up on time and didn't manage to put my foot in my mouth. Let's hope it comes through, I'm getting bored of posting to my website.
October 30, 2002
Anyways so there I was drinking a beer saturday night (I'll post the rest of Saturday's stories later on this week) and this girl takes my beer. I was kinda distracted by the booze in my system so I needed Yhan and -Mike. to point out to me that my beer is gone. So I go up to girl (who had drool all over her shirt, but I have that effect with women) and demand my money back. She claims she only has a dollar in her back pocket. Well, I guess $1 is better than nothing right? So I put my hand in her back pocket (she had tight jeans on...really tight) and reached around for a few seconds, moved away the fat and found the loonie! Woohoo, I give her a slap on the ass and tell her to get on her ways. I successfully have proven that I can pull money out of my ass.
So next time I ask Uzo for my money, I full expect him to pull money out of his ass. And no, my magic hands will not touch it. They are only reserved for females with drool on their shirt.

Anyways, next week looks like it'll be a change from the normal road course. It seems people want a change and we'll have either a change of venue, or try out the oval course. Either way I'm game for something different. If a new track is tried, it'll be ProKart which is located roughly around The QEW and Hwy 427. Here is an interactive map for those that want the exact location.
Lap times at ProKart's are in the 18 and 19 second range which makes it a much smaller track than formula kartways. Rates are $22 - 30 laps or 10 minutes, whichever comes first plus a $5 membership fee.
Anyways, get in contact with me if you wanna come. If we do head out to prokart's, it'll probably be a one time thing.

Me -- of course :)
Boost Monkey -- Fought hard not to finish in last, but he had serious car troubles.
TheProfessor -- Still hasn't let anybody forgot he won a race.
Probable:
Dark Phoenix -- haven't heard from him yet, but he's always there. Call me if you read this :)
Questionable:
Uzo -- Posted a career best last week, let's see if he can do it twice in a row.
UltraCaker -- He's somewhere out there. Maybe he's practicing on his go-kart???
TalonBoy -- Hmm, how did that java go?
SilentJay -- If he show's up, that means TalonBoy was there too.
Russian Rocket -- I have no way of contacting him, so somebody will have to help me.
Doubtful:
Sw0rdFish -- seems when you aren't winning injuries come out of nowhere. Ahh well, as noted below, he did admit that I rule so I can't blame him for anything :)

Let's run down the lineup for tonight:
In:
StuGautz -- Had a horribly underpowered car last night and struggled to finish 4th. He'll no doubt be a little more than angry tonight.
BoostMonkey -- Strong 3rd place showing last week means he might actually have some gas left in the tank. Of course his gas won't power any cars.
Sw0rdFish -- this guy just keeps on getting lucky every time out. His streak will end very soon.
DarkPhoenix -- Impressive showing last week. Has he cracked the top 3 or was he just driving a fast car?
TheProfessor -- Last time he raced, the tomahawk chop was cool.
Questionable:
Uzo -- Found new work last week which is a good thing, because his race career hasn't been going anywhere lately.
TalonBoy -- While his father is on vacation has taken over the family business. But will that be a distraction?

Good news is that MILF hunter Ryan and Bangbus passwords are generating a lot of traffic to my site (something around 10 hits/day).
Bad news is I GOT NONE OF THEM!
Ahh well, I really can't complain about unique impressions can I? But again IF YOU WANT MILF HUNTER PASSWORDS OR BANGBUS PASSWORDS I HAVE NONE. There are places where you can get them from, just not this site.
And no Mike, I will not give you my username/password to fatsex.com. You'll have to get it yourself!
Oh yeah, I also updated the picture of my father's horse below so you can click on it and see a larger size (some people were complaining they couldn't read the writing at the bottom).

Ahh well, get through the interview fine I guess, didn't do anything outstanding or say anything memorable and walk another 5 minutes to get to my car. Open the door and guess what? IT STILL STINKS IN THERE. Those people who spend enough time around me know that at the best of times my gas can clear out ACC. Well add some nerves to that gas for the impending interview and I honestly thought a skunk had died in there (or at least the professor). I'll keep you posted as to if I get the job or not, but don't expect to hear anything about it any time soon.

Stu - hasn't won in 2 races, but is still improving each time out.
Boost Monkey - Last time he won the mullet was a cool hair style.
Talon Boy - Still trying to find out which pedal is gas and which is break.
Uzo - It'd be great if he actually showed up --- and on time.
Sw0rdFish - Don't question this man's heart. He'll be there tonight.
Questionable:
DarkPhoenix - If he can find the race track he might be able to battle for third place.
Doubtful:
UltraCaker - Claims he's good, but hasn't shown any potential.
Out:
The Professor - the new laughing stock of the racing series. Ever since Sw0rdFish burst onto the scene The Professor seems to be taking lessons on how to avoid a challenge. Hasn't won before and doesn't look like he'll ever win.
Got a favorite team that you want to find a message board for? I'll post a link to the Minnesota Vikings message board tommrow, and a link to our opponents message board the Monday before the Lions play them.

Tommrow I hope to decide on a case. I got no clue what I want. Only requirement is that it's not freakashly loud because it'll be placed close to a TV and there is nothing that I hate more than a loud computer next to my TV.

Anyways, I plan on spending roughly $500-$700 on upgrades and getting a new motherboard, processor, video card and case. Any suggestions on the best way to go about it? I'm going AMD all the way and probably a Radeon 8500LE 128mb to keep costs down on the video end (I can always upgrade later).

All signs point to another epic battle next week with Boost Monkey making his return from the senior's circuit. Just for those keeping score at home, Boost Monkey hasn't won a race in a month. Do I notice a trend forming here?
Yes I know what you all are saying, there is no way Stu could have wrote that table himself. Well you are right, I went to TableMaker and they wrote the code for me. I just entered in the values and made a couple changes.
